What's your favourite low carb breakfast?

Hi everyone with the interest in pre diabetes and controlling type 2 diabetes this is something that is affecting more and more people and I've just been asked this so what are your favourite low carb breakfasts please. 😊

I have 2 hard boiled eggs and Greek yogurt every day when I’m home for breakfast.πŸ˜€πŸ‘

For me, it’s natural live yoghurt, milled linseed, inulin, a few mixed nuts and some fresh strawberries and blueberries with a cup of coffee. Keeps me going for ages. Delish!

To take to work: whole milk greek yoghurt and berries, on a day off or late shift where I eat breakfast at home usually some sort of egg and veg scramble or omelette. (If you are trying to be very low carb you’d have to pick your veg carefully but moderate high fibre carb works for me)

A scramble egg, spinach, onion, diced ham on a slice of whole wheat pita bread dopple of topasco. SO FILLING. Glass of quava tea which helps keep your sugar in check. I'm type 2 diabetic

Poached eggs, tomatoes and mushroom is good low carb but also course grain old fashioned oats are excellent slow release carbs which do not make a high sugar spike, keep insuline levels constant and keep you fuller for longer which stops hunger cravings. Win win either way.

Hi jerry,what a bummer to be diagnosed with illness. Half tub cream cheese, four eggs, two large spoons ground almonds. Make pancakes, freeze them and enjoy with crispy bacon, or fruits, i.e. Berries. Easy peasy to make,and easy peasy to enjoy.

I quite like a chia pudding at the mo! With crushed dried raspberries, blueberries or a bit of nut butter.

I've tried & tried to like chia pudding...I really want to like it! But I just can't eat more than 3 or 4 spoonsful...I think it's a texture thing!

I think it's really bland if you're not careful. I can't eat a plain one! But the dried raspberries flavour it enough to make it edible :)

I've tried mixing cacao powder into it to make it chocolatey, but not fruit. Might give it one more go with the fruit to see if that helps, thanks for advice. 😊

Blueberries are nice! Not a fan of frozen fruit in it (the texture when it's defrosted is manky...)

1 or 2 eggs either scrambled or as an omelette (I add no milk or butter), poached or fried, with some dry fried (or in 2 or 3 sprays coconut oil) chopped courgette, mushroom, spring onion, cherry tomatoes, peppers, kale & spinach, sometimes with a rasher of lean bacon, season to taste with herbs & ground black pepper, or add a little coconut amino. Veggies for breakfast sounds strange, but I love this.

Or a large mushroom stuffed with cottage cheese, bacon & veg like spring onion, courgette, red pepper, all chopped tiny & fried, plus some wilted spinach. Yum!

Have just been diagnosed as pre diabetic and need to gt as many ideas as possible to reduce the sugar in my diet. I do not add sugar to anything only Canderel in black coffee nothing in tea.

There’s some good ideas above Skyjumper and they sound yummy! I don’t know if you need to lose any weight but if that is the case it can make a big difference to your blood sugar control along with cutting added sugar. Some people need to go really low carb but I found I didn’t, moderate carbs prioritising high fibre has been fine for me, and my blood sugars are now back in the healthy range after losing two stone. Has your doctor given you any guidance?

My favorite is a spinach onion omelette with a little feta and cheddar. I make it with three eggs and save half for the next day. I have one piece of 12 grain toast too.

I have two eggs on working days: boiled, fried, scrambled or as an omelette (fast on non-work days and skip breakfast).

I love eggs!:)

there have been no eggs in our supermarket for a week, my brother gave me some he had managed to get because he knows I am working and whining and moaning about how I need my eggs :)

I might have to think about a low carb alternative (that is available just now?!?) that will keep me going for the whole day.....

nuts might work, and maybe the cottage cheese or yogurt if I could get a nice one just now. I did think about feta and olives (again if I could get them) I don't get a long break at work but I usually eat a cheese and fruit snack in the afternoon at work so normally wouldn't add extra fruit in the morning. Having said that, what's normal just now? :) :) :)

I usually have Greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs for breakfast and then have a lunch/dinner with lots of protein in it, so it can keep me not hungry and I don’t have any low blood sugars before dinner and bedtime.πŸ˜€πŸ‘
