Low Carb virgin seeks advice
We've added low carb to our intermittent fasting as already stated some 3 weeks back. I weighed myself this morning and have lost .3kg. I know PMRpro posted in response to a previous post about the steroid effect and only vaguely understood it. Last night whilst not being able to sleep I used Carb

Is there anything I can do to halt my disease progression?
Is there anything else I can do to halt my disease progression? My current GFR is 86 and I'm just trying to stop this thing before it gets out-of-hand. I currently do not eat refined sugar, gluten, or red meat. I have been sticking to a low sodium diet as well and eat mostly vegetables and fruit. I am

Hi Everyone - hope you are all keeping well. I’m not wanting to bother my gp or asthma nurse... I have everything I need to control my asthma here... my peak flow has been low the last 3 mornings - it picks up with inhalers and I am not unwell, just tired and out of breath. I have home nebuliser (which

For those not visting dietdoctor.com regulalry you may have missed that they are screening this conference live and following the sessions, the presentations are available to view in one's own time. I am assuming they will be available for one month. Then the presentations will be uploaded progressively

Self isolating
Have been attempting to do this (more, it's our norm for much of the week) in the last week but have failed. Daughter is moving house today and our services were needed on 2 days.. (If she got sick I would go and care for her, always a mum). So, today is Day 1 and I've already gone back on my idea

Benralizumab injections
Hi all, Hope everyone is keeping well in the current climate. It’s 5.40am I’ve been up since 4am - good old predsomnia and being mid flare! Anyone here having Benralizumab injections for eosinophilic asthma and have still had flare ups? I had my first injection 3 weeks ago and was under the impression

Feel like giving up
Hi guys, it's been a little over a month that I started a low carb diet but no significant weight loss up to now. I have cheated several times by eating pastries or fries but on the whole I have maintained the low carb diet. Now after one month I simply feel like giving up but I know I will feel worse

Wheezing with peak flow meter
Hi. I noticed that when I use my peak flow meter, a high pitched sound comes out when I’m blowing into it. I don’t ever wheeze, but this is the one time when it sounds like I’m wheezing. Anyone know why I’d only hear it when I’m measuring my peak flow?

How to blow into the peak flow apparatus
Can someone give me some knowlege, please. As a copd cum asthma sufferer I get 2 reviews per year. The last was a while back and I am due a second. Anyone with covid?
Hi there! I’m day 4 into covid and would love to compare notes with other asthmatics who have it. I started with a very sore throat then had a terrible headache and body pains. Now I’m exhausted and my lungs are tight and feel a little hot but my peak flow and oxygen are good. My pulse is higher than

Peak flow
Hi my peak flow is currently around 300. I have never been very good at assessing the servitude of my asthma and hardly notice when I am breathless of wheezing as I have had asthma for so long. I am now a 48 year old(female) and am trying to take better care of my asthma. I have noticed I am sometimes

Clenil side effects?
Hi all - first post. I have mild asthma, which is normally asymptomatic, and only appears sometimes after a bad cold, which goes on to affect my chest. I have an asthma review annually and the asthma nurse knows and approves of the fact that I do not normally use a preventer, unless I start with a cold

Salt
Apparently last week was Salt Awareness Week, and me being my usual disorganized self, I just got around to writing some observations about that in the LCHF group. Since some of you are here with medical issues like hypertension, I thought it might be of more general interest: https://healthunlocked.com

Salt
Apparently it is (or was, as of yesterday) National Salt Awareness Week, organised by some worthies known as 'Action On Salt' (http://www.actiononsalt.org.uk/), with the hashtag ''#eatlessalt'. If nothing else, the existence of such things probably tells you all you need to know about our unhealthy relationship
