Low Carb vs. Keto
The less I eat the better I feel. At my “Navy weight” of 120# (when I joined, and even retired), I’m unusually stable despite changing up various dietary protocols. Of course, I sample and cheat a lot but feel best when off of most dairy & gluten (& partly by association, low carb). Keto “research”

Low dose naltrexone (LDN) effective for my severe systemic rheumatoid disease (RD)
I am currently celebrating 4+ years of effective use of LDN for RD. I have written extensively of my journey, including blood work, sx, dose/titration, other conditions, etc, and don't want to repeat it here. I just want to start a new thread because the initial posts come up so low on any search.

Genius! Celeriac lasagne!
I've cooked celeriac for the first time today (and thank you for asking, it's only a little cut and it's nearly stopped bleeding!) so I googled recipes and found this. https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/oxtail-lasagne-recipe I love recipes that are naturally low carb. This might need some tweaking

Aerobika
Morning all, I started using the aerobika twice a day in the last few months and thought I would let you know my experience. I use it for twenty minutes and it seems to compare to postural drainage for clearing mucus. However, I noticed about four weeks ago that I can drink far more water. This is unscientific

My weight loss/gain history
Today?1 I am in a position to do 'weigh in' days at last! This will be a long post, sorry. I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks, been busy, busy, busy with my veggie garden and falling into bed at night. Some of you may remember me, great difficulty losing weight, tried everything and it's

Low Dose Naltrexone for Depression?
Has anyone here ever tried LDN (low dose naltrexone)? Did you find it helpful? How can one find out if they are deficient in endorphins? You can also take a look here at this interesting and informative article: https://medium.com/@hablerannie/breaking-the-stigma-of-depression-with-ldn-7c5a7ba8ba0e

Almost have a flat stomach!
Hi All, I have gone back to the LCHF lifestyle again at the start of lock-down, I have lost half a stone and "almost" have a flat stomach. I have not eaten gluten for four years and gave up sugar completely four weeks ago. I started weekly pilates classes at the beginning of the year and since lock

Clenil or Qvar
I have taken Clenil for years and years - basically since it was decided it was better for the environment and I’ve been trundling along very nicely with no problems at all. I was recently given Qvar - it was back at the start of lockdown, there seemed to be some sort of a delay then I was told the pharmacist

LCHF and "athletic" performance
Strava, the running/cycling app, has this concept called segments: they are arbitrary stretches of road marked out by users. Every time you ride through a segment, Strava records your time. If it's in the top 3 fastest times you've ever done it, you get a trophy 🏆. That means the second time ever you

Confused
Hey guys, so briefly T2 diabetic, went LCHF 3 years ago and have been in nutritional ketosis since all but once when I slipped out for 48 hrs. So my question to you all is this. I got up this morning and tested my urine 0.8 ketones, came down and tested my blood 10.5 😳 this has happened before normally

Ramadan Update 1
So, having embarked on what most people would consider a radical fasting/exercise/LCHF programme, how is it panning out? Well, pretty good so far. I’m now one week into the experiment and have stuck to the outline concept rigidly, the main part, of course, being the fasting. So how has that gone, have

Asthma and smoking..anyone smoke??
Hi all hope your keeping well, I'm having trouble with stopping smoking and I feel like my asthma is constant but my peak flow and oxygen are fine. Is it possible that thinking about the asthma to much is making it worse? And does anyone here with asthma smoke?? How does it make your throat feel if so

Weird new allergies and non-allergic asthma
Anyone else have this issue? I have severe non-allergic, non-eosinophilic asthma, but also have hayfever - which is a bit weird but I have read up on it and it's possible; seems to be mainly trees. I have triggers including floral scents such as lavender, rose, violet etc but they just trigger asthma

Major thanks to all for advice given re peak flow and inhalers. Now taking a preventer I no longer need a reliever and increased peak flow from low 300's to now 500 in just 2 weeks.

Dr. John Madany
I'm putting this up because the good doctor is so enthusiastic and joyful at just how LCHF can change lives. Truly inspirational. Maddeningly, and as usual, putting a link up here is problematic or downright impossible. Go to the tube and enter 'Brendan Reid and Dr. John Madany'.

Low Dose Naltrexone for ADHD?
I am just wondering if anyone here is familiar with or has possibly tried low dose naltrexone and if it helped to relieve their ADHD? I recently read a patient interview where a woman found it very effective and I've heard from several other people that they were also prescribed it. (https://www.ldnscience.org
