Tapering off Prednisolone 5mg suppositories
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone here has used Predsol 5mg suppositories for 3 months? My Gastro said it was ok to use them that long . . . I'm wondering if I need to taper off (for eg, use every second day for a few weeks?) The gastro was not happy with me last visit as my bleeding had come back

London Marathon 2024: Bringing the Medal Home!

NICE: Teprotumumab for treating thyroid eye disease ID 6432 - being scoped
I have just noticed a new NICE guideline has been started. Only a skeleton at present - in the guideline scoping state. It will probably be years before it is completed. It is good that it has been selected for further work but must be devastating for anyone suffering TED to see how far away this (potential

Metformin experiences
Hi all, Hoping for some advice/experiences. I have been diagnosed “unexplained” however I do seem to have lots of follicles in my ovaries and although I don’t have any other typical “PCOS” symptoms, my new specialist seems to think as I am so active/fit I have masked the other symptoms and I may be

So proud of little Oscar
We go for our 5K runs without the dogs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, then once back take the dogs for their morning walk. The other days, its just the dog walks. I swear the dogs do it on purpose, but when we get up for our run, they just lay in their beds apparently asleep and are still there

Impact of a Mediterranean Diet
I've also developed
pre
diabetes
. Four weeks ago I decided it was time to sort out my diet (eating far too much carbs and sugar) and feel better generally. I signed up to a plan I found on Instagram, run by a nutritionist and it's has been nothing short of miraculous.

Somebody asked why I take Berberine. I figured it something good to share.
Yeah, I need to write down why I take things (I forget why eventually).
So Berberine:
1: It suppresses viruses, including EBV. I think viruses may play some role in PD (I have not been diagnosed with PD. I have RBD and a sore shoulder and some other troubling symptoms): https://healthunlocked.com

The 'Brain Energy Gap' and its possible implication on the progress of PD.
Has anyone else seen the work of Professor Stephen Cunnane on the 'brain energy gap' and its implications for PD, Alzheimers and cognitive impairment? I've put a link to one of his talks below, but to summarise: - Cognitive impairment and brain health in PD, Alzheimers, is due in part to an 'brain

Plodding along for years with T2, first metformin but now insulin twice per day. Reasonably good diet, try to avoid added or high sugar, although carbs can be my downfall, mostly active, low alcohol consumption. Blood glucose readings fairly consistent, though slightly above target and keep nudging

Taking Betmiga with Pred for Urine Control?
Just wondered if anyone takes Betmiga (Mirabegron) for better urine control and if it is advisable? Since having PMR from 2022 I have frequency and urgency bladder issues, particularly at night. I would love to sleep the night through or travel without angst! While I am on, glad to say I had the

Out today - Diabetes drug may slow progression of Parkinson’s
The results reveal that after 12 months, those given lixisenatide showed essentially no progression of motor problems, while those given the placebo showed worsening symptoms, dropping around three points on the 132-point assessment scale – a modest difference, yet thought to be clinically meaningful

Starting fresh - probiotics
Hello people. I recently became disillusioned with the supplements I was taking. It came about because I restarted berberine after a three month break. My normal brand, renew by science, have doubled their strength, and within a day or two I was finding I was ridiculously tired, like I'd run a marathon
