Hypothyroidism

Hi, diagnosed in 2017 after feeling unwell for many years. Was still unwell in t4 thyroxine, caused me to have pre diabetes and high blood pressure after always having low blood pressure. GP refused to prescribe t3 so purchased from France, felt so much better. Trying to purchase t3 very difficult.

GPs seem to think that they should not prescribe T3. I think it is to protect themselves as they haven't a clue about hypothyroidism and will stick to T4 (levothyroxine - also cheaper than T3).

It seems that they've not been given sufficient information on how to treat a patient who has hypothyroidism. They fail to aknowledge that liothyronine (T3) is required in all of our T3 receptor cells. but they seem to assume that T4 will convert to T3 but that's not always the case.

Hi, did you buy the t3 online from France? I am asking because I live there and would be interested to know where you can buy it without a prescription.

Hi, it was a few years ago, my sister went to France on a mini cruise, she walked into the first pharmacy and bought 20 packets for 2€ a packet. Can’t remember where she docked. I think it was just luck, my nephew went last year and could only buy one packet.

Thank you for your answer. I will try with a pharmacy near me but I am pretty sure they will ask me for a prescription. We never know I might be lucky.
