I will be stuck on "Statins" for diabetes, I have been on them before, I have been on diabetes since March 2020, any other alternatives?
What is the general opinion for Statins f... - Healthy Evidence
What is the general opinion for Statins for Diabetes 2, its side effects etc?
Adlon57, I was sorry to see you didn't get a reply.
I'm not medical, and assuming you mean Type2?
Just my thoughts but I would suggest you consider:
- if you are going to be able to change your eating, lose weight and try to reverse your diabetes. See You Tube talks by UK GP Unwin or Canadian nephrologist Jason Fung. Both are evidence based and reliable.
- what is your cholesteral / heart disease risk (previous heart attacks / stroke etc.) Look at US Board certified internal medicine specialist Doctor Suneel Dhand on YT about statins. Eg here: youtube.com/watch?v=VVuCIWL...
Good luck. 😀
Thanks Clock01 It does not matter now, as I am now terminally ill, my GP has given me some leniency, I won't be put on Statins, diabetes 2 is the least of my worries, my cholesterol not too bad presently, my diet and exercise routine seem to be working ok🤞
Hi Adlon57, I'm so sorry to hear that.
Obviously I don't know your situation, but if you can stay positive. Doctors, with the best will, can only talk averages.
I wish you well and hope that you can prove your doctor's prognosis wrong for a long time to come. No one knows the future. Keep living well. xx
As I said msmedicalcare statins are the least of my worries now, my GP has seen fit I won't be prescribed them due to my other more serious medical conditions, I have used them before, with other medication prescribed to myself to counteract the side effects of the "things", I have a bad record of side effects, and reactions to medications right across the medical field, my GP calls me a "one off" so I will get through👌
Forget it, my state of health, mentally or physically, is too bad to worry about "Statins", thanks about the offer, one I live in Northern Ireland, two I am basically terminally ill!
