empty capsule cases
Hi, I’m prone to gastric problems and just had a stomach ulcer heal but now I’m on Prednisolone I’m finding they are irritating my stomach to how it was before. I take them with food. I am getting no joy asking for the coated ones do was wondering whether to just buy empty capsule cases and put them

Diabetic
Had the 6 month check up consult with my consultant yesterday and liver wise all seems stable CP A meld 6 No too happy with him though. Luckily I asked for a print out of my blood results and when I got home I noticed a few were "off" He did not mention those but I took the result form to my GP today

Can the effects of Metformin, for diabetes 2, cause irregular urinary flow effects akin to that of Prostate Cancer side effects?
I have both Diabetes 2 from March 2020, when started taking Metformin, and Prostate Cancer, June 2022. I have had urinary flow symptoms from March 2020, seem to have worsened, could that be indirectly be a side effect of the Metformin?

Pre diabetes after heart attack?
I have been hanging around a while without posting but am a bit confused about the
pre

diabetes
thing. So a couple of months ago I asked the GP to check out my legs, I was having numbness and burning feet. She said it might be blocked arteries so got me in for a doppler test and took my bloods.

Gestational Diabetes (GD)
I've just been diagnosed with GD, it's my first pregnancy (34 weeks) and I'm so scared and worried. I'm ready to work with the midwives and dietitians but I'm also worried about my baby. Anyone with experience in this regard? How did it go for you?

Omega 3
I've read that many fish oil supplements are rancid and low quality, but I've also read that the linseed i usually take doesn't have as much omega 3 as animal sourced options. What brands are recommended...

5kg weight loss with Hypothyroidism
Hi, I have been trying this diet plan for the past 6 weeks, since 26 Sep 2022 and am happy to report that I have lost 5kgs to date. Basically, I watch my macros on a ratio of 2 servings veggies, 1 serving protein and 0.5 serving of carbs every meal. I eat 3 meals per day every 4 hours. Then I leave

Statins & Steroids
I’ve been advised to take statins due to high cholesterol levels of 7.0, Serum triglycerides 2.3, HDL 2.5, HDL ratio 2.8, LDL 3.4, non HDL 4.5. I’m reluctant to take more meds but I’m unclear of the meaning of all the results and if I should take statins or not. I’ve read some articles stating that

Tattoo
I would really love another tattoo but I'm not sure if it would be safe. Does anybody know if it would be OK? I should add that I have NAFLD as well as insulin dependent diabetes.

Herbal supplements for bronchiectasis
Would anyone have any knowledge or views on taking cardamom for lung health. I’m currently soaking 3 pods in warm water a day then squeezing out the seeds and drinking it as have heard this is an ancient herbal remedy to kill bacteria and help with inflammation. I also take echinacea daily but am wondering

Recommendations for a good selenium supplement?
That's not expensive? Selenomethionine is the type I'm after. I currently take Viridian which is around £8/9 for 30 capsules. It doesn't last long as I take 2 capsules daily. Previously I used solgar but I didn't feel it was as effective. There's so many different supplement sellers on Amazon now

/PCOS, only if they want to look at regulating periods for fertility reasons, which metformin can do. However I'm not trying to conceive and do not want children.
