Hi all, Back ache due to overactivity in garden, after about six weeks resting finally contacted GP for physio appointment. Chap said as I have had a breast cancer treatment he wants an xray.

So I get an xray which shows osteoporosis of the spine with 2 old fractures.

Whilst getting the results via GP, I explained that I thought with all the slouching because of back pain that I might have an ulcer. So GP gave me drops for stomach, organised a bowel test, blood test and further bone scans.

Blood test showed Pre Diabetes.

The bowel test came back with blood in it. So had endoscopy which showed a trace of gastritis, so given opermazole for 8 weeks.

Meanwhile I have had two Colonscopis, 1st one was a fail but they found a polyp, I was too dirty for any further treatment. (Plenvu )

Second one, again failed but the Doctor managed to clean up space and took the polyp out, he then had to use 5 metal clamps to close it up. (Picolax)

After the first one I was incontinent for 4 days.

Still recovering from the second, the Dr said to eat as normal, so I did my whole fibre diet (re pre diabetes )

After a incontinent first day, blurred vision second day, followed by a white stool. My body was filling up, after four days increasingly uncomfortable, then sandpaper feeling on the left side up of the bowel. I couldn't do anything about it so I started a porridge diet, only eating porridge for four days , gradually it calmed down. Now my diet consists of low residue. Tried to add a small amount of fibre but that results in massive bloats which are very exhausting.

It's been 13 days.

Next up in a couple of weeks I am to have a colon CT scan with another prep.

Meanwhile the MRI and DX Scan confirm osteoporosis and no cancer cells in bones. PHEW !!!

I had only wanted some exercises for back pain! !!

Oh dear, Bijli, you have been through so much recently! All of it unpleasant for you. How are you feeling at the moment?

Dear Luisa22,Still trying to get a better diet, oh so much bloating and cramps, I didn't have this before the first conolscopy, GP found blood in the stool because she decided that I needed a full investigation, but I only wanted suitable exercises for the spinal osteoporosis and old fractures which still hasn't been forthcoming.

Just getting frightened of doing much stupid really.

But I really think it's IBS or something, these extreme measures that have to take place to come to a conclusion.

I have eaten porridge and the last two days a portion of peas, both of which are soluble fibre I hope to gradually move to a higher fibre diet again but it will be all upset again when I take the Grastrografin for the CT.

Sorry, I actually came to this site because I thought it would be helpful gaining knowledge as my son has been confirmed IBS for a few years now he doesn't really like to talk about it much.

Never thought I'd end up talking about my problems.

Thank you Luisa22 for your kind wishes.

Stay safe

God bless

Wow! Here's hoping your luck will turn.

I've always gone on a super bland diet post-op for any bowel stuff. Fiber gets introduced much later and very gradually, and only when I feel things have finally settled down sufficiently.

Dear WinfongThank you so much for your comments, very useful knowledge to have.

I managed to eat a baked potato with skin yesterday with only a small amount of disturbance. So phew, I have my Colon CT Monday next so I have go back to the low residue diet again, but now better armed with new knowledge.

So thank you again.

Stay safe, God bless
