Plodding along for years with T2, first metformin but now insulin twice per day. Reasonably good diet, try to avoid added or high sugar, although carbs can be my downfall, mostly active, low alcohol consumption. Blood glucose readings fairly consistent, though slightly above target and keep nudging up. Then last couple of weeks, having read articles about healthy eating, I decided to try adding fermented food (kimchi, sauerkraut) to evening meal. Noticeable effect has been on lowering blood glucose, got caught out a couple of times on reaching hypo level without being aware. Will continue experiment to see if it's really a pattern or trend , or mirage, but could be good effect if managed well. Is it me? Has anybody else got any knowledge or experience with this?

Welcome to the group. Have you talked to your doctor about changing your diet and your blood sugars? If not, please make an appointment and let us know what you find out before you do anything to be on the safe side. We want everyone to be happy and healthy.
I am on Metformin since 2006 with Hba1c hovering around 6.5. No white sugar at all. Otherwise also Sweet intake much lessened. Reduced my weight substantially and now it moves around 66 Kgs. Green vegetables and millets substantially increased. Morning walk 4 to 5 kms.
