Nearly a week on from laparoscopic hysterectomy....
Hello everyone Just thought that I would update on my op which I've had as a consequence of tamoxifen for 2 years which have caused endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of uterus). I had it Friday morning and came home Saturday afternoon not needing to be on pain relief! I've had a total hysterectomy

Looking for input on lung cancer surgery with lymph node removal and mild COPD
I am now down to 3 lobes due to lung cancer surgeries. It has been 5 weeks and I still get short of breath with any exertion. My heart rate goes up as high as 120, but my O2 level pretty much stays above 90. As soon as I sit down my heart rate starts to drop and my O2 level goes up. My oncologist has

Post hysterectomy and dating...when to mention that Ive had this done and why.
Hi Everyone. Firstly let me just say that I had the total hysterectomy and oopherectomy done over a year ago privately and so I am not suggesting that I wasnt aware of the possibility that it could cause some questions about my actions. I am happy I chose this way. I do not refret my decision and now

I have stage 4 endo diagnosed by lap 5 years ago after suffering horrific periods since my teens. I'm 38 now. Diagnosis came about as a result of infertility

Hi everyone, About 8 years ago I had my thyroid checked as I was feeling very unwell about 8 months after having my first child. It flagged up high antibodies but normal range for everything else. Last week after feeling utterly exhausted and not right for some time I took a test for thyroid and got

Hi Ladies,
My name is Jules. I found out I had breast cancer in sept 17, I had 6 rounds of chemo, docetaxol and EC which shrunk the tumour, then I had a therapeutic mammoplasty and lymph node removal. A Routine CT scan followed and then came the news in March that it had moved to my bones, spine, pelvis, hips.

Advice on recovery time and pain?
Hi I was hoping for some advice on recovery time and pain really. They think I might have endo due to my symptoms and are also doing fertility test as I am 35 and still haven't been able to conceive. I am booked in on Tuesday for a laparoscopy, hystoscopy, dye test and if they find any endometriosis

Triple negative and BRCA1 positive
Hi, I am 42 year triple negative and BRCA1 positive. My tumor was 1.9 cm and 1 node involved. I don't have any close family members with known history of breast cancer. Genetic councelor suggested bilateral mastectomy and salpingo oophrectomy. Can anyone suggest which hospital best in India for my situation

After surgery now
I thought it would be time to post here how I am doing after surgery. I had surgery on April the 5th 8 am and it took 4 hours. I didn't feel much pain to be honest or they kept it controlled during the time I was in hospital, which I left Sunday - 3 days after surgery. According to the doctors the surgery

Painful lumps, MRI and that What if feeling
With a BRCA 1 status, and history of Stage 1, grade 3 Triple Neg. cancer, I feel a little cast to sea without clear direction as to how to best monitor my body for recurrence. I had a non-nipple sparing double mastectomy and oophorectomy, so I know I've done due diligence surgically. I know this genetic

Lymphedemajourney
I’ve just had a flare up of my secondary lymphedema due to radical mastectomy and 14 lymph node removal. It will be 2 years May 16, 2018 since my surgery. I’ve been able to control lymphedema with compression sleeve. But now I’ve had this flare up—swelling, upper arm & elbow redness & hot. Also spots

Lymph Node Dissection [LND] & Salvage Radiotherapy [sRT].
New Mayo study below [1]. For article, see [2]. When radical prostatectomy (RP) is a primary treatment option, it offers better 10 year survival than radiation. And if it fails, there is always salvage radiation therapy (sRT), which, however, is not offered with curative intent. "Up to 50% of patients

Pain after laparoscopy
Had laparoscopy and hysteroscopy +
polyp
removal
last week. All fine (tubes ended up being clear, so no removal), but since the op, I've been experiencing some bad pain down the left wall of my vagina, plus bacterial infection symptoms seem to be returning.

Bowel endometriosis and hysterectomy
After 5 laparoscopy and a bowel section I am finally at the end and can take no more!! I have to have another bowel section and want a full hysterectomy at the same time. I have been advised by gynacologist to have an oophorectomy to just remove ovaries as if I have a hysterectomy then it has to be removed
