Post-Op Advice Please!
I am scheduled to have a total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo oopherectomy on August 12th. I am a bit unclear as to what you can and can’t do after the operation if it has been performed laparoscopically. I know you can lift things like kettles a d have been told to get a small travel kettle instead

New here.
After having a thyroidectomy in 1984 I have taken levothyroxine. All seemed to be well until 7 years ago when I had an oophectomy. My levels shown in blood tests for t4 seemed to shoot up and I have now gradually got down from taking 175 mcg to 125mcg on 5 days and 100mcg on 2 days. All very well for

4 surgeries in the past year!!!
I have ovarian remnant syndrome. To make a long story short(kinda). This last surgery was a laparotomy so he could get all the pieces of ovary left. I must add I have adhesions and scar tissue well of course from previous surgeries as well as endometriosis. He told my husband immediately after surgery

IS LUPRON AS EFFECTIVE AS OOPHERECTOMY ?
IS LUPRON AS EFFECTIVE AS OOPHERECTOMY IN LOWERING ESTROGEN? GNRH ANALOGUES ARE SYNTHETIC DECAPEPTIDES , SO WONDERING IF IT'S AS EFFECTIVE AS OOPHERECTOMY IN LOWERING TESTOSTERONE , ANDROSTENEDIONE AND ESTROGEN ? ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

Possible Ovary Removal
Hi all, could use a little advice... I am scheduled for my first lap in two weeks and was just informed by my doctors that there is a possibility they may need to remove my right ovary. It makes sense, as it is the biggest source of my pain and I can feel it at all times, I knew the removal was a possibility

BSGE referral?
Hi folks, hope everyone is having as good a day as possible! In May I was found to have stage 3 endometriosis when having a large cyst removed and partial oophorectomy. They didn't remove any endo at the time of the laprascopy and I was really only told that I'll go back to gynaecology in 3 months, see

Gallbladder removal - surgeon
I'm due to see the surgeon next week & decide whether to have the operation. I see that he is described as a "General Surgeon". I know that "Gastrointestinal Surgeons" exist & I wonder if I would be better off with one of them & should make a fuss. Not sure I'll have the nerve to put this to him.

Gallbladder removal
I'm new to HealthUnlocked & there doesn't seem to be a community for gallbladder issues. I've had some bad gallstone attacks over the last few years, though only one since August 2018 (which was a really bad one). I've been advised to have my gallbladder removed & that's the only treatment being offered

Crippled By Hot Flashes
This has been going on for 3 years now - a year after my surgical menopause. I do believe this is a major cause of my anxiety - I hate them! I have tried HRT (several types) but it makes me feel worse with mood swings and a racing heart. When they happen, I get a horrible surge of anxiety, feel sick

Is it back...again?! Really struggling to find the strength to deal with this 😭
I’m just wondering if it is possible to get endometriosis again if you’ve had a hysterectomy and your ovaries removed? I’m on HRT because I’m only 30 and I was told there would be health risks if I didn’t have an oestrogen replacement. Can endometriosis grow/return because of the HRT? In the last few

Feel lost - need advice on treatment given that pain is back less than two years after laparoscopy. How many laps is 'normal'?
I am 39 and was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2017. After years of telling doctors my period pains matched the symptoms for endo but being told it couldn't be, I finally was ill enough to find a surgeon privately. He was so certain I had endo that he didn't do a diagnostic laparoscopy and went straight

Hi everyone.. I’m so pleased I found this group it has giving me hope for my mum. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer to left breast and lymph nodes. Ovary removal and more....
Morning everyone Just after advice. Just over 3 weeks ago I had a lap to remove both ovarie and tubes. They also removed nodules from belly button and pouch of douglas and separated organs that were attached because of endo. I was told by nurse that as it was a lap it would only take 2 weeks to get

Single Oophorectomy in February, no follow up
I had my right ovary and tube removed in February and the doctor came to see me as I was coming out of the anesthetic, said everything went well and lookedgood. That was the last I heard from the doctor, no follow up appointment, not even a phone call. I had the procedure because I had been suffering
