Hi from a newbie

Hi. Just wanted to introduce myself. I have had endo for 20 years and managed to manage it over the years with prescription and over counter pain relief. Only ever had the one lap as don’t really like operations ( who does!) but maybe coming back to bit me now. I’ve had 2 cycles of failed IVF in between and in last year my pain has got much worse. At the same time my anxiety has also got much worse. Initially I didn’t see a link but after doing more research I think my endo is the cause of my anxiety. So here I am now waiting for my first gynae appointments in years. I’m currently on tramadol for pain and sertraline for anxiety but still yet to get the right meds sorted. If I got this I reckon things would feel better. My pain lasts for 2 weeks and I’m fed up of having no social life and planning everything round my endo. Would have it all out if thought would help but read a lot of stories about problems after having hysterectomy and ovary removal that not sure want to go down that route. Sorry there are so many of us on here going through the same thing. Is an awful disease and I guess I’m just coming to terms with the fact I’ve got it after all these years! Would love to hear from anyone who also suffers anxiety; has worst pain after stopped bleeding; pain in hip that goes does leg; anyone whose had a successful ovary removal. Oh and I also have a fibroid and get cysts. The joy......

Hi there Lorena, it’s such an awful disease. I have my left ovary removed back in 2013 as I had 6inch cyst on it and it all went well. However I am now having to have a full hysterectomy and some of my bowel taken due to both endo and adenomyosis, fibroids and scarring. Good luck and I hope everything goes well and if you need to vent we’re all here xx💛
