Somewhat belated introduction!
I probably should have introduced myself before posting about the woes of my asthma and commenting…sorry :) I am 17yo, biologically female but identify as male. Which kind of sucks but hey, that's life. I have 'hayfever', eczema and asthma (you would never have known that, would you?), and I suffer

A year tomorrow
It is just about a year since the severity of my "itch" became almost intolerable. I have seen the GP and have been prescribed Ranatidine which helps my reflux (was on omeprazole) and quietened the itch, this was at my request following a post from another contributor and not because of GP suggestion

New findings of risks with meds popular with seniors
Two of my blog posts in the past week have dealt with medications frequently used by seniors and the serious risks they pose. •A new study finds that anticholinergic medications carry irreversible risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s. Drugs that fall into this class include tricyclic antidepressants, antihistamines

I've had nasal mucous as long as I can remember (I'm 68) and this gets to my chest every Autumn and can last for months. Damp weather always makes it worse, also if I get hot indoors. Could all this be caused by the nasal mucous? Antihistamines don't seem to work so I wonder if certain food intolerance

Constant coughing
Has anyone got any tips on dealing with a constant dry cough? I've had a bit of an ordeal with my 9 year old son over the past two days. He has mild asthma, we've had sketchy advice about how to deal with it, one nurse suggested it might not even be asthma. He's on ventolin and clenil but we stopped

...so I'm not going crazy
I was diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency about 4 weeks ago after seeing my doctor about a body rash(which turned out to be Mycoplasma chest infection) The doctor took blood work just to be safe.My b12 came back at 174.The doctor said I most probably lacked a substance in my stomach called Intrinsic

Latrepirdine
Does anyone know about this Russian antihistamine, Latrepirdine, that supposedly breaks down alpha-synuclein. Parkinsons UK are looking to trial it. Does anyone know where to buy it?

Does anyone have an experience of this drug? Swollen, painful and inflamed right calf.
Last Thursday I noticed some inflammation on my right calf which was also tender to touch. I observed it over the next few days and noticed that the inflamed area was gradually moving lower down the calf. On Sunday the position was about mid calf and extending into the ankle. It was decided that I attend

What tests should I ask for?
After taking advice on here I managed to get a different prescription as I seemed to have a reaction to a different brand. Thankfully the itching has eased with some help of some strong antihistamines. Although now seem to be getting a lot more aches and pains with these? Im due to call my surgery

Antihistamines
Hi, Thank you all for replying. I do understand the difference of the H1/H2. I went to see a nutritionist as soon as I was diagnosed with PA, the first thing she told me to do was to stop taking any antacids, I did take a few Rennies etc, but not an awful lot. She also told me to stop eating refined

Antihistamines and B12 deficiency
Hi, Does anyone know if taking antihistamines can cause a B12 deficiency? I have been taking antihistamines for 10 years now for rhinitus. I think all my symptoms etc and the lack of B12 stem from candida, but a doctor pooh poohed it as rubbish years ago, even though my diet was 80% sugar at the time
