Experiences with montelukast or immunotherapy
I have recently been given a Hearing Dog. She is a poodle,so one of the least allergenic dogs. I know I have a dog allergy so my Symbicot was doubled initially to 400mg twice a day. I am, however, still struggling and taking salbutamol a lot during the day. I have tried all the different antihistamines

Allergies are not always as they seem
Allergies are not always what they appear to be. By this I mean that if you have an undiagnosed connective tissue disorder, chances are you are experiencing a histamine reaction that is actually your immune system over stimulating. Stress over any situation can bring about a histamine reaction. It may

Injection Reaction
hey there, I’ve been getting red and swollen reactions every time I do my weekly tocilizumab injections, despite following all advice from my rheumy team. I am thinking about what antihistamine might work best, and was wondering for any suggestions? I’m currently using piriton but it doesn’t seem to

Allergic reaction
I was bitten by something in the classroom yesterday ( not a child, though that's not unheard of in our place!) and I've had a really bad reaction. My forearm has swollen and is really hot to the touch. I don't generally get reactions like this. Minor injuries were not unduly concerned and said just

Angioedema and Hives
Hi everyone I’m now 9 months on from HA and 2 stents in RCA, and have been on the usual swag of drugs with some side effects, mainly tightness in chest and stomach aches. We reduced the Statin to just 10mg (All lipids are now excellent) to see if this was the culprit, but still getting the stomach aches

Skin pain driving me mad
Two years ago, following insect bites my immune system kicked off. It started suddenly with big red patches of sore skin all over my body. I was given strong steroid cream which didn't work. Then came agonising neuropathic skin pain which feels like every inch of my skin feels as if there are prickles

Can Levo cause these issues even after stopping?
Hello. It’s possible my thyroid meds have nothing to do with my ongoing illness, but because of the timing, I want to ask. I had been taking just Naturethroid for 7 years. My levels went low, was feeling tired but I couldn’t tolerate higher doses of NDT so my doctor cut the NDT slowly and slowly added

Cirrhosis and AIH
Hello all. I am new to the forum, but not new to liver disease unfortunately. I've been living with AIH since 2006. I always thought it was relatively well controlled and I was plodding along nicely until I got to April/May of this year. I began to break out in hives and did the usual things of checking

Extreme itching revisted
I posted on here about a month ago regarding my OH's itching problem as a result of being prescribed Apixaban and Bisoprolol following his first episode of AF. He has now been off all AF meds for just over two weeks and there is still no improvement with the itching - it is driving him crazy, he just

Tingling skin
Hi all, can I have views on this please? I suffer with a sharp, tingling on the skin on my arms. I used to describe it as an itch but it’s very sharp almost to the point of pain. It’s not all the time and I can go years without it but then it’ll start up again. I first had it just before I went through

CT Results - worried about the results
Been diagnosed with asthma and was on Steride but changed to Relvar and Incruse last October. In the summer I had to go on antihistamine and singular. Was doing better but still never 100%. I use alot of ventolin all year round... just had CT scan done, waiting for the written report but GP said what

Blepharitis
For many months my eyes tended to be a little itchy especially the right side but not tearing. I’ve had dry eyes for years and use cyclosporine eye drops. During a time of stress: my husband’s surgery and his car accident I developed a stye inside the lower lid. Optician prescribed drops and hot packs

So itchy I could claw my skin off.
Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has suffered extreme itching during their pregnancy? I’m currently 13+2 and I can’t stop itching my skin, my arms, chest, back, sometimes my face. I have been in contact with my midwife who suggested I try calamine cream, which I have, it’s only a short term

Antihistamines
Hello, Hope everyone is keeping well. I suffer with allergies and normally take an over the counter antihistamine (clarityn) I had my embryo transfer 26/10. The advice on the packet is not take during pregnancy so stopped taking them to be safe but the allergies are driving me mad, sneezing, itching

Severe allergic reactions
Hi Has anyone experienced severe allergic reactions that they didn’t have before TT and taking Levothyroxine? The reason I ask is because I was stung by a wasp this morning and I had a severe reaction, so much so that the Paramedics were called and I had to have IV corticosteroids and antihistamines
