I spoke to my doctor about this and she said to take Chlorphenamine (piraton). As much a she said I could take it I actually haven’t because I am just scared to do anything! It says on the packet itself that the full effects during pregnancy are not understood but my GP said it would be fine to take them. There’s quite a bit about this online if you google and it might be worth a conversation with your GP.
Hello TheFoxes, thank you so much for your reply. I am too scared to take anything and I did read a bit about histamine being needed for the implantation process so can’t risk it. We do our test on Saturday so will have to see what happens after that.
My doctor is completely fine with Claritin and Zyrtec. I have terrible allergies and have been on antihistamines daily for years. You will be completely fine, don’t worry. I have successfully got pregnant while on them. Also, you may have heard that there are even antihistamine protocols where doctors especially prescribe Claritin before and after transfer because it’s supposed to help with implantation. Basically, what I’m trying to say, don’t worry, keep taking it.
Thank you so much for the information and great to hear that you had a successful pregnancy.(Congratulations) This is really good to hear as my allergies are making me miserable at the moment!
I had this problem, my nurses said I could only take piriton ( chlorphenamine maleate ) . Hope this helps. There is also a nasal spray that is pregnancy friendly. Ask your pharmacist to help you find something to ease your symptoms
