During our vacation in October, my husband’s brother Garth gave us some startling news. He has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C; Wow I thought to myself, I knew exactly what he was going through but I couldn’t give any support. I couldn’t bring myself to mention anything about what I was going through

I was discharged yesterday lunchtime and arrived home at 1.00 pm - or 2.00pm - husband hadn't got round to altering the clocks. I was in hospital a few days longer than anticipated and you will probably be able to deduce from that that something "interesting" happened. And on this site "interesting

Hi I am new to this.Wondering if anyone can advise me on Drs. who treat GAVE. for my husband.
He has GAVE (watermelon stomach). He is having transfusions every 2-3 months now, used to be 6 months. Also has laser once a year which does not do anything for him. We live on the mid North Coast NSW but we will go anywhere if we can get a Dr who specialises in this area. I also want to know if there

Cancer and Me (Etc)
I've never written a blog before, so please bear with me. On the 19th December last, I was diagnosed with bowel cancer and non small lung cancer , both completely separate types. I was 71 years of age at this time, very fit, I thought and healthy. No thoughts of cancer. On the 12th January, 2012

Any suggestions for how to prepare for first appointment with haematologist?
Hi, I've been lurking for a week, and so glad I've found this site. I had one test after my first late miscarriage and they treated me as if I have APS, too late for second baby, but 3rd baby had full APS protocols - even pre-birth and she is now 7! I've had migraines - including visual disturbances

Blood/Haemotology
At last my HB level has risen to 10.5, after having a 3 unit blood transfusion. But my platlets are still low! I have been referred to the Haemotology Clinic for treatment, but I'm unsure what this will involve. Has anybody been through this & if is so can u enlighten me as to what I should expect.

Hi Ladies, You will have missed me on the site. I have been very poorly, not cancer related we now find out thankfully. But I can now explain just why I have not been in touch and and have neglected friends on here. Somehow I find it so difficult to come on and post and deal with other peoples problems

As a new member, this is my first blog, even though I was diagnosed at fifteen with SLE. I was always told my form was rare, as it effects my brain more than I'd usually admit and my nervous system. Lately I've been having more frequent flares and my iron count was a seven the other day so I had to
