I was in Hospital for a week over Easter..I thought was told it was Varices but it was PHG (Portal Hypertensive Gastropathy)
I am out of hospital, had all Varices known to man double banded, and 3 blood transfusions. I saw my Gastro specialist this week and he informed me that NONE of the varices had bled, it was PHG! He also confirmed that was the same issue the last time I went into hospital a year ago! So not one varice

Blood donation after acute ITP?
I was diagnosed with ITP back in 2015. I went through the normal prednisone treatment, and by the end of it, my count was back within the normal rage, and I haven't had an episode since. I assume it was acute, brought on by a viral infection. I still have my spleen, and I wasn't given a blood transfusion

First time posting on here. I’m desperately seeking answers. I feel like I’m fighting and fighting for answers which has become mentally and emotionally draining. At the age of 13 I started getting extremely heavy periods as well as bleeding a full 7days to the point I became very poorly and suffered

New here. After 10 years of CLL, Ibrutinib treatment needed for decreasing hemoglobin and platelets.
I have avoided any treatment so far but extreme fatigue fluctuations have drastically restricted daily activity such as walking, cooking, gardening etc. It's been a gradual progression and now I want some energy back so I can stay independent. Last summer I also acquired a severe allergic reaction to

Thrombocyte removal/transfusion!
Does anyone know if we could give our platelets to other people? I just found out that my mother-in-law has Myelodiplastic Syndrom, a type of blood cancer more dangerous than ours, where the body progressively produces less red blood cells, thrombocytes and leukocytes! She’s down to 85 thrombocytes.

Liver Metastasis/Firmagon Bone Pain
We have had some really hard weeks. My husband was diagnosed end of March and spent 2 full weeks in the hospital following a Shockwave treatment for a kidney stone. We have still not sorted out all the issues. He's had three transfusions and is finally holding his own for hemaglobin. Potassium is also

It’s been almost six months since my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer with Mets to his bones. He just finished his round of chemo and ranged the bell that he was done. Even though his journey is far from over. He is doing remarkably well he’s a to get a few transfusions and calcium

CPI - 0610 might be significant breakthrough re MF
I must stress that this is a corporate presentation so sugar coated. And early days/limited trail numbers. However I post to give hope to everyone that there are some exciting developments in the pipeline. CPI - 0610 might be superior to Ruxo because, allegedly, disease modifying ie able to improve

Breathlessness after bypass
My 86-year-old dad had a triple bypass last year. It’s not been a success unfortunately. He had anaemia and a few transfusions and fluid on the lung which has been drained several times. He’s pretty much housebound as going out brings on fits on breathlessness. With so little exercise and not much

Postponed treatment
I have only recently joined this site, and already, I am finding it quite helpful and reassuring. I was diagnosed with CLL/SLL in January and started treatment immediately because I had generalised swollen lymph nodes. I had one treatment but second treatment was postponed because my WBC, HB and platelets

Complication during ablation
Hi folks I had my third attempt at radio frequency ablation last Wednesday. (I had number one 15 yr ago as radio and cryogenic one 9 months ago) Although this reduced my AF episodes I am aging too and want to reduce the medication, instead of increasing it, which is happening at the moment. Unfortunately

Blackpearl (Jaycee) update.
Sadly, Jaycee’s had some setbacks with her transplant recovery. It would appear that her immune system is attacking the liver. She is presently jaundiced, and has had two blood transfusions as her haemoglobin levels were low. They have increased her anti-rejection medication, and have done a liver

Periods on rivaroxiban
Hi has anybody had bad periods on rivaroxiban? following 2 blood transfusions I’ve had the coil fitted and still losing to much blood I have had the coil in a month now and hasn’t made a difference. Dr had lowered the dose to 15 mg but won’t take of rivaroxiban.
