Hi everyone I was told after 4 blood tests I was in a very grey area ! Apparently I tested positive for antibodies .

Also I have had a diagnosis for anemia , which wasn't a suprise as I suffered since 12 years old on and off when I was 18 I was pregnant with pernicious anemia and rushed in for a blood transfusion I gave birth st 37 weeks to a 8 pound 11 son , I am concerned he could have it as I have pain in my legs really bad ,I'm on iron pills but I decided to wait and see about the he levothyroxine pills unti July , when I have my next blood test , also I have a 5.2 cholesterol level . How did your legs feel better please !

Hi Greyarea, welcome to the forum.

You might get more helpful replies if you post your blood test results, with the ranges, and let's have a look. I have no idea what you mean by 'a grey area'.

Were your antibodies TPO antibodies? If so, you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis - aka in the UK as Autoimmune Thyroiditis. When did you start taking levo? And how much? July is a long time to wait for a retest. It should be six weeks after starting levo.

High cholesterol is a symptom of hypothyroidism. As your T3 rises, your cholesterol will reduce. :)

Hi nice of you to answer me

Yes I am a bit in shock of it , I will ask for a read out of my results , I have been having symptoms for3 years and I was told it was medication which I take for migraines , heartburn and anxiety meds ( Prozac ) and iron tablets , also I have mild degenerative discs in lower back , just so much info coming at me I actually thought I had type 2 diabetes 3 years ago as I was dizzy and had blurred vision I never had need glasses before then and my father had diabetes and my mother has type 1 , but I think they want my blood level better ,

Grey area means in doctors chat worried

It's a print-out you want, not a read out. :)

Migraines, heartburn and anxiety can all be hypo symptoms. So, you've probably been hypo for a long time, and they've just been treating the symptoms as if they were separate diseases. That happens a lot.

I doubt doctors would be that worried by thyroid results, they barely acknowledge that thyroid problems exist. So, I'm still none the wiser. :)

I have low iron and Ferratin. So much so they are making me have a endoscopy and colonoscopy

I am on 125mg of thyroxine but am also taking some vitamin D

My doctor has also put me in 20mg if starlings due to kidney problems.

However about a month ago I started taking St. John’s wort and feel so much better.

I get incredibly tired and warn out and zombie like after a few days of “busy busy” but all in all it’s manageable

My skin is terribly dry and nails brittle and crumble.

Thyroid deficiency truly is a disease
