New Study re: Myelofibrosis: Predictors of Anemia Response to Momelotinib Therapy in Myelofibrosis and Impact on Survival
Synopsis: TAKE-HOME MESSAGE In this retrospective study, the authors identified the predictors of anemia response and its impact on outcomes in 72 patients with myelofibrosis treated with momelotinib. Nearly half of the patients with anemia responded to therapy, including those with transfusion dependence

The power of love
My first post! I was first diagnosed last year February with stage 3B. Not fun. But after 30 radiation treatments and 8 chemo sessions it had shrunk to the point where the docs were satisfied that it was probably dead and we could proceed into an "scan, wait and see " mode. I tolerated chemo and

Any recent experiences of AIHA developing in progressive CLL - particularly in those treated with or awaiting Venetoclax treatment?
Hi all. Well, 2nd line treatment day one came yesterday, and I dutifully scrubbed up and turned up at the hospital for 0830 to start my planned Venetoclax ramp up. I was somewhat apprehensive tbh, partly because of side effects, partly because of having to hang around haem/onc waiting room for 6 hrs

Low Haemoglobin- at what level might a transfusion be necessary- any thoughts?
I am about 7 weeks post transplant. GP phoned (on Sunday) to say my haemoglobin had fallen, and I should check with transplant clinic (seeing Thursday) whether: 1) they wanted GP surgery to deal with, 2) the QE liver team would deal with or, 3) It's nothing to worry about and will resolve itself

Breakthrough in laboratory production of red blood cells towards saving lives of those with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in the future
One of the triggers for starting treatment for CLL is haemoglobin dropping below 100. The most common use of donated blood is transfusions for those undergoing cancer treatment. Even targeted therapies for CLL like acalabrutinib or venetoclax have an impact on bone marrow production. While there's

Recently diagnosed with Primary Myelofibrosis
Up until I caught Covid at the beginning of June 2022 I was fit, healthy and pretty active, always outdoors doing something like playing golf two or three times a week. I never really recovered from Covid although tested negative after two weeks. Since that time, I became more and more out of breath

Recovery after blood transfusion
Hello lovely people. I have a question. After a blood transfusion for low platelets and HB did you feel better straight away or did it take a few days? I am still breathless and light headed two days later? I have had repeat blood tests to show levels are higher but not back to normal yet.

Hi, everyone
I had to blood transfusions yesterday. I am anemic think I spelt that wrong. They have done 5 blood tests and couldn’t find anything. They think it’s Olaparib. My CA125 is 5 and now they want to give me a CT scan. I’m scared what if it another cancer.

Advice please.
I was diagnosed with PA in 2006 after having a blood transfusion due to low haemoglobin. I was given the loading dose of b12 and then continued to have them every 8-12 weeks. I was also prescribed 5mg folic acid daily. In 2015 I seemed to develop a sensitivity to my b12 injections (hives, hot flushed
