Hey guys, hope your all well or as well as can be expected, Just thought I would update you from my last, 16 days ago and the GP gave me Amitriptyline 10mg-up to 3 before I go to bed. Omeprazole 20mg Gastro with Ibuprofen 1 x night.. Ibuprofen 400mg Pain 3 x daily and Senna tablets 7.5mg Constipation with drugs 1-2 per night.... Well Monday morning I was in so much pain and these tablets wasn't working I decided to ring in sick and pop to the A&E in North Manchester,
Well organised and apologised for just turning up and waiting about 15 minutes to see the GP and he said confirmed this was sciatica, did quite a lot of tests, told me that an x-ray would not show anything anyway, that's cancelled now . he has given me Co-Dydramol 10/500mg 2 4 times a day and continue with the Senna tablets... Boy!! I needed those!! pain has started to go away but still on them but has eased with a few exercises that I have started but feel this is going to be a slow process, but thought I would update you guys as you have been so helpful previously
Take care and will keep you updated

Taking all those Co dydramol will make you a bit constipated and also you may get addicted to this pain killer . Try and cut it down when you feel a bit better. That’s why he’s given you Senna to stop constipation .
Morning Rabbits65, Thank you, to be honest am fed up of the drugs am currently taking, on for life due to the cancer so I try and take as little as I can and hopefully when the pain disappears, will come of these altogether, had 2 Senna tablets last night, waiting patiently this morning, have a good day and again thank you
I hope you have a good day too. Life is hard at times for all of us , yesterday afternoon I had a nasty fall. My poodles charged off after a ball . I tripped and bruised my foot . We just have to be more careful.
I am glad that you finally have some pain relief that is appropriate for the situation. Some people metabolise codeine products differently with others, so if the senna doesn't work, you may want to try something else. I had to take strong painkillers for a hip problem that was causing severe pain, and it took a week of four sachets of Laxido before I was regular again!
Hi cyber barn, thank you for your advice it's appreciated, had to take 2 sennas last night and without going too much into detail was a good result so fingers crossed they are working for me as well, but will bear that in mind, again thank you it's appreciated
Hi Aoibheann, thank you for that, at the moment I am happy with the Co dydramol and the Senna tablets 7.5mg, as I stated earlier they worked this morning without going into detail, so hopefully this is being sorted out, the pain has gone down a fair amount from 10 to 5-6 and hope it goes down even further soon, when it does I will drop the Co dydramol down to 1 tablet when required , will keep you updated and again thank you for your advice, it is appreciated Stay safe
I have had it for about 18 months, good and bad days, try to rest the muscles when you can, I have a very complex medical conditions, she gave me relaxants to add to my drawer of pain meds, they have been very helpful, particularly taken at night, help to sleep, might be worth a try also have acupuncture monthy and that also helps
Hi dinkic, can't believe 18 months you have been going through this, mine is about 6 weeks now, am not sure if I can go on that long with it, I can sleep OK but when I go to bed it's just so painful and gone in the morning until I step foot out of bed then the pain just rushes back, picked up the the new prescription last night but if the pain eases further I will cut down from 2 to 1 tablet 4 times a day....i can't afford acupuncture, but thank you for your advice, its appreciated
