Hi

I’m newly diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. This started September 2020. Rheumatologist thinks due to a Stroke in July 2019 my brain was damaged in the part that controls pain signals.

Also suffer Acute anxiety and IBS.

Trying to sort out my meds to control pain 9/10 for a lot of the time, pain jerks? Etc etc.

Currently on: Clopidogrel, Sertraline, Quinine,

Zopiclone, Co-codamol

Thinking of using/trying CBD gummies?

Any suggestions or help would be most welcome

Im 67 Female and until Stroke - wasn’t on a single med , except painkillers for usual stuff. Now feel like a pill popping junkie!

Had both Covid jabs, so want to get out and about but now have to use stick for balance, and get very confused overwhelmed by silly trivial things .

Hi Sorry to hear you have joined the ranks, at least you have a clue as to the exact cause of your symptoms or at least when they became noticeable. A lot of people I have spoken to when they think back begin to realise that things were going on well before they became a real problem. Your IBS and anxiety could have been the cover for the real thing and only after your stroke did it manifest fully.Enough about that I take Gabapentin, co-codamol, for pain and mirtazapine, pramipexole because they give me a chance of sleeping and stuff for my dickey ticker as I had a pain induced heart attack not so long ago. I didn't feel anything other than just being a bit off and went to the hospital because a Taxi driver insisted, yes he saved my life.

Apparently I don't complain enough so I came on here to whine about things but I don't think that is what they meant really.

Things are gradually becoming less and less effective and I am very loath to ask for more in case things get really bad and I am left with nothing to help, so at the moment I am sitting cooking but not in the sense that will give me a cake.

I am a bloke who has just hit the 60 mark and really have had to slow down until my tiny brain can catch up and the old stick has become necessary too as the world can swim and go down the plug hole at times, so we are similar in that respect. Just slow down.

Don't be afraid to complain to the system, because if you do not they assume you are ok and ignore you as it saves time, money and resources that are stretched tighter than a party balloon that is overblown to the point of exploding . So noisy people with lesser problems will get help first.

You would not believe how long it takes me to type stuff, due to a goblin with a pickaxe digging a hole through by brain but no one can see him/her/it/gender neutral/ non binary nasty git.

Take care The Village Idiot

Thank you for your reply - made me laugh, which actually is the best medicine. When pain hits the sense of humour goes walkabout. Today I’m on the war path and phoning GP again!!

Have a good day

Good morning, sorry to hear of your illness. I’m new diagnosed with fibromyalgia too. In severe pain from head to toes 24/7.When I’ve tried CBD capsules/ pills it gave me terrible migraines and upset stomach and I didn’t feel well. it’s a personal choice and someone surely benefits of this medication but it didn’t work for me. My friend takes CBD capsules and it helps her with migraines hence opposite effect for me.

I’m currently on Tramadol and co-dydromol and hopefully will get some other med to manage my pain rather than be on Tramadol.

It’s very difficult and draining to be in pain all the time but it takes time to find suitable medication which helps. Rheumatologist prescribed be all sorts of antidepressants as they could help with fibromyalgia , but it made me even worse….

Take care xxx

Sorry to hear about the pain. It’s so acute unless you’ve had it people don’t understand. I too been on Tramadol but felt like a Zombie! And the most weirdest dreams.

I have found Sertraline for the Anxiety works fir me, but want to wean myself of Co codamol as it is not good with my IBS. Who knows it seems everything.

Best for me is heat - got 2 things I warm up in the microwave and cuddle them. Simple but effective.

Take care L x
