Negative SVT Ablation experience
Good Morning All, So I had my SVT Ablation on Thursday at St Thomas’. Not a great experience. Procedure took 3 and half hours. I was awake the whole time and conscious of everything! Four puncture wounds on groin. Two either side. I could feel the catheters going up into my veins and tweaking around

Down to half a mg of Prednisolone daily, but what is this?
I am down to half a mg of Prednisolone daily, with hopes of being steroid free by the new year, but have been having shooting pains in fingers for the last couple if weeks. In the last few days has escalated to painful wrists and was hoping it was only arthritis! Started taking paracetamol, which helped

Exercise and PMR
I am posting an update and a question. Since discovering I have PMR in Sept 2023 and starting on Pred at 15 mg, I have had a slightly bumpy start to my PMR journey. Was getting used to being on Pred when I had a visit from the Covid fairy which took a couple of weeks to clear, but I still feel I have

Covid & dosing
Hi, I tested +ve for covid this morning. It's the first time I've had it. I've had 5 vacs. My temperature is high & I'm taking paracetamol for that.My question is, should I alter my T4/NDT dose? I haven't been ill at all since I started on thyroid meds in 2015. I wondered if I should increase, decrease

Post viral stuff!!
I'm just sat here wondering......because I don't have the energy to do anything else!!!!....whether or not I have a post viral flare! Is that even a thing? My 4 month old grandson has had bronchiolitis and our little superspreader very kindly passed on some version of the virus to his parents and me.

Advice on taking Naproxine with Pred
As I flagged up last week - was diagnosed with Bursitis on the right hip. X-ray was done and no fractures found which was such a relief. Prescribed Naproxine 250 mg twice a day and paracetamol if pain got over the top. I also take thryroxine 75 mg and 100mg on alternate days and Losartan 25mg. Magnesium

Stuck in the middle with - er, Denise. Sorry, Denise 😬
Well here we are again, not running. I got so far as week 5 run 2, feeling ok, ran it twice to convince myself I was ready for run 3. Bit of a funny feeling in my left ear though. Oh no, glands are up on that side. Next day no energy, ear feels much worse. Leave it a couple of days. I'm no better, but

My extreme compulsion
Hi all.First Post here. I was diagnosed a while ago and when I have times off my medication I find it really hard to rationalise. I am currently going through quite an extreme period of compulsions and side effects. thought I'd share them here to help myself rationalise and also to hopefully help

Prescribed Naproxine 250 twice a day for hip bursitis is that dangerous with Pred
I was prescribed Naproxine 250 twice a day yesterday for bursitis ? on right hip. Pain is so bad dr. gave a steroid injection. Suggested I take up to 4g of Paracetamol if necessary. Just read of NHS site that Naproxine and Pred are not compatible. Is this true for short time use? If so what

Grumpy Old Lady in pain
A follow up to my previous post.. Is it my fault? That I didn’t give them enough relevant information when I phoned? How do I know what is relevant when I’m not a trained medical professional and I can’t see what comes up on their computer screen against my name? Would it hurt for them to ask

implant Surgery Tomorrow
The dental surgeon says to take 10 mg prednisolone in the morning before having the tooth extracted and implant put in. She knows I’m currently on 3-3.5 mg and has PMR long term. She says the extra is to help with the anxiety/stress and that as my body likely isn’t producing cortisol of its own this
