pain in back
Nothing much touches back pain Iris but I hope you can get some relief. Pete feels sorry for you as he’s in pain too and can’t sleep in bed.
Thinking of you and glad you have such wonderful support from family. Xxx🩷🥰
Sorry to hear Pete is no better Carole. Its terrible not being able to sleep in bed, does he manage better in a recliner as it helps to be a little upright. I am now able to sleep on my non operated side for a little while in the night which makes a big difference and relieves the pressure on my bottom. Wishing you both well x
I have been prescribed codeine and paracetamol five times a day 15 mg doesn’t help much. Can’t bend, still hurts sitting down. Getting on and off the loo, inand out of hair orbed. Low back.
Sorry to hear you are still in such pain, Iris. I do hope your daughter in law convinces the doctor to give you more help.
My children were marvellous too when I was ill, such a comfort. Thinking of you xx
So sorry to hear your back pain is no better Iris, perhaps the gp can give you something that will tackle the pain better. Its so good that you have your sons near x
I’m very sorry to hear you’re in so much pain. I know how debilitating it can be when nothing seems to touch it. I’m glad to hear your family is being so supportive, though and hope you’re able to get some relief from the pain soon. Thinking of you, TC x
The pain takes over and I forget what I am getting up for the pain takes all my attention. Then Iwatch the news and amthankful I have a roof over my head.
I’m sorry to hear you’re still in so much pain, Iris. I agree, there are some horrendous things going on in the world but that doesn’t detract from your own personal suffering. I think you said your daughter-in-law was going to contact your doctor. I would suggest you need to “lay it on the line” and tell the doctor how much this is affecting you, as it doesn’t sound as though the standard painkillers will be of any help. I hope you get some answers soon x
Yes thank goodness for your family Iris. I'm so sorry you're still suffering constant pain is awful. I hope your daughter in law is successful in getting better pain relief from the gp. Flowers 💐 🌹 🌸 🏵 🌼 💐
I have morphine for neck/shoulder and arm pain. I also have a bad lower back, morphine helps but not that much. I suppose it's what is causing the back pain, hope you get the help you need but bad backs are difficult.
Back pain is awful I sympathise .
I have a small electric head pad which I find useful , but you need a near by electric socket .
Also a risk of tripping over the wire , just as I did with my I pad charger . Be careful .
Have you tried some of the topical relief creams ?
I hope you get help from your doctor soon.
Hi. I have a plug-in hot water bottle that takes about 10 minutes and then stays hot for hours. It doesn’t need to be plugged in after it’s hot. Mine is manufactured by Carmen but others are available. My friends hot water bottle plugs into a USB socket. I find this great because I would have trouble holding a kettle and pouring in hot water. It also doesn’t have the strange smell that the previous microwaveable hot water bottle had - I think it was meant to be lavender.
It sounds as if you need something stronger. Bless your family. They sound very kind. I hope you find relief soon. xxx
Sorry to read this Iris. I hope they can find some relief for you. Don & Smudge xxx.
There are many medications for back pain but first your doctor should really investigate the cause. I know I have severe osteoarthritis in my upper spine and moderate in my lower back plus a few neurological problems. I found getting my doctor to refer me to the pain clinic very helpful. GPs are quite limited to what they can prescribe and due to the recent concerns over codeine addiction there have been a number of problems. My specialist put me on a pain patch and a number of other medications for breakthrough pain.
Works for me . It can cause constipation though to watch out doff that but ot does?kill the pain and let's you relax
I’m sorry you are still suffering. I’m waiting for an op on my back. I’ve had co-drydamol in the past but was worried about getting addicted and being bunged up! I have nortripyline for the associated nerve pain which helps me sleep at night and use a tens machine when it’s bad during the day. They’re not much money and seems to help me. I hope you find some relief soon. BTW not something you want to consider at the moment but I also do Pilates to help keep moving.
Have you asked about amitriptyline iris? I had it once for a pain that wasn’t being helped by a cocktail of drugs including tramadol The amitriptyline helped. Back pain is awful. Affects everything. Try to keep mobilised as best you can 🤗🤗
There is other strong pain medication my sister on one sorry not sure how to spell it its something like naproxsin cause codine and paracetamol were no good but there are strong meds my sister was in bad way with her back so I understand how painfull it will be for you take care
