DVT Pain Relief
Hi. After 3 weeks of being told I’d got tendonitis, I ended up at A&E last week with diagnosis of large DVT in my right leg. The pain is so upsetting. I’m on a full dose of paracetamol and elevating my leg when I can. When I thought I had tendonitis I took a lot of anti-inflammatories which I presume

WEEKLY CHAT 19TH-25TH FEBRUARY: Sickness Stops Play ☹️
Hello lovely runners. How’s it all going for you? The unpredictability of this running business means that we never know what each week may bring, which is why it’s so good to read about everyone’s news in the chats! Sometimes a lot can happen from one week to the next. I’ve just returned from a little

Hi I collected my first prescription for T3 Liothyronine 20 mg today. All the instructions on the box tell me is to take one tablet a day. I read the instructions inside and they just say to take exactly as instructed by doctor or pharmacist. So does it matter when the tablet is taken or if it is

High Gamma GT results due to medication?
I recently had a health check via my insurance company and my Gamma GT levels came back high (105 U/L). I have a very balanced diet and excercise 3-4 times a week. I drink alcohol, but not everyday (a couple of drinks during the week and at the weekend perhaps 3-4 drinks) but I understand high levels

Update on safe pain relief
Received phone call from Liver Doctor yesterday tea time. I was told that it was safe for me to take up to 3g Paracetemol daily which is up to 6 x 500mg tablets daily. 8mg of Codeine daily can be taken if necessary along with a laxative as it can cause constipation. Tramadol and other Opiates should

Help with current BP problems
I have had above average BP readings since in my 20s when on the pill. I have always been overweight for my height , and have now been told I have CKD3 . I have been given potassium pills for the BP which have little effect only to raise my pain problems. This does not make sense to me as foods with

Advice on safe pain relief
I was listed for transplant in November 2023. Last week I had a terrible fall. I have one fracture and very painful soft tissue injuries. I was only given some IV paracetemol. I have spoken to my transplant team who are now working out what I can have as they said that there will be something. I have

I've had RLS for over 35 years getting worse as I get older. I'm now 74. I did well on mirapexin 0.09mgs for years. Then it made my RLS worse and it moved to my arms . I came off it with the help of tramadol 50mgs. I started alternating mirapexin and tram ,it wasn't perfect but better than nothing, Then
