Post viral stuff!!

I'm just sat here wondering......because I don't have the energy to do anything else!!!!....whether or not I have a post viral flare! Is that even a thing? My 4 month old grandson has had bronchiolitis and our little superspreader very kindly passed on some version of the virus to his parents and me. Thankfully he is much better now and the adults are improving too. But yesterday I seemed to hit a brick wall...absolutely no energy and very achey shoulders and neck...my legs didn't want to work either!!! I took paracetamol which, to be honest, didn't do much so took myself off to bed. This morning I feel the same so I have just taken an extra 3mg of pred.....my dose is 5mg.....now I wait and see!!! I'd like to get my hands on the person who said this usually only lasts 2 years!!! That was 8 years ago. Although I do think GP's and rheumatologist are much better informed these days. Sorry for the moan!!!

Please feel free to moan, and if you can’t do it here, where can you?😊 .

Would say probably a combination of a flare post virus [and certainly not that usual] and adrenals struggling to cope with extra stress..

See how you get on with the extra 3mg.. if okay fair enough, but usual advice for flare is to add 5mg on current dose, so do bear that in mind. As long as you don’t stay on increased dose for longer than 14 days you acan drop back down without impacting your normal tapering regime.

Hope you soon feel better..

Post-viral - even intra-viral - flares are a thing. Though maybe your symptoms are actually typical of the virus? After all, junior wasn't able to express his symptoms in words. Or were you better during the actual "thing". Get well soon!

Danerous things babies!!

I really did think I'd got a version of his bronchiolitis because it went straight to my chest (still coughing!!!) I really didn't feel this bad during 'it" though. 😂 I totally agree about danger babies, hahaha....and his mummy and daddy do too. It's agonising seeing them so poorly when they are so tiny though. (Babies not parents!!!!) Thanks PMRpro.

If the cough persists do ask the doctor - wouldn't want a lung infection!

Yes I will, although I have a rescue pack of antibiotics. I don't feel so poorly with it though. Oh, and I think the extra pred is kicking in....I actually feel like moving to get a brew now!!! 😊

You MUST have been bad if you couldn't even get a brew!! I have to get one to start to feel human anyway!

It’s the fact that they are irresistible that makes them so deadly.
