Hearing aides that actually help with tinnitus?
Hello, I have had hearing loss and tinnitus-for approximately 10-15 years. Does anyone know of any hearing aides that help in blocking tinnitus? I had hearing tests & a brain scan as my hearing deteriorated reasonably quickly. I had national health hearing aides but they just made me notice my tinnitus

Strange sounds 10 years post-op
Ive had vestibular schwannoma /acoustic neuroma removed in January 2013. Until now tinnitus has always been there but suddenly more persists and occasionally the whooshing sounds. I had a scan 1 year ago which gave the all clear but these sounds are causing a lot of stress Any similar examples.. please

Is tinnitus seen as having hearing loss.
Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone in the forum uses hearing aids for Tinnitus, or bilateral tinnitus. And would using such hearing aids be classed as an aid like as if someone has hearing loss. Thanks

biologic therapy
I have been on methotrexate for 20 years for RA. I started at 10 mg. Went to 15mg fairly promptly and then 20mg last year. In general I had no side effects and good quality of life. Recently I started to have a lot of flares and my rheumatologist has recommended a biologic. He said I could try upping

PPPD…a Vestibular issue
🙂 Not all of us cope with Vestibular issues in addition to Cerebellar Ataxia ..it’s like a triple whammy if eyes and ears are out of sync with the Cerebellum. Today, I discussed it with a Physiotherapist, and it was a revelation having somebody understand how difficult it is to explain symptoms.

my Tinnitus sounds like a chorus of crickets some nights.
I had sudden deafness happen to me about 4 years ago, age 47. No one knows why. It was bilateral so I require hearing aids now. My left ear is profoundly deaf and my right ear lost abo it 35% hearing. The bicros hearing aids I wear do the trick and help me with most daily situations. The tinnitus

Small Vestibular Schwannoma
On 12/21/22, I was sitting at home and my left ear suddenly began to ring. It did not stop, so the next morning I called my doctor and set up an appointment. He wanted to make sure that I didn't have a sinus issue, so he put my on some common sinus medication for two weeks and told me to advise

Confabulation
"Confabulation happens when your brain creates scenarios that did not occur to make up for gaps in your memory. It can happen as a result of various memory disorders or an injury to the brain". Healthline.co.uk (2017). The elderly gentleman I care for full time confabulates in almost every conversation

Vertigo
I have had episodes of vertigo for the last 12 years now. But they weren't very often. Recently they have increased in occurrence. They seem to happen when I get tired - even just a little tired rather than exhausted! I'm getting them several times per week now and they really are debilitating!

Long haul flight uk to Vancouver
I fly out to Vancouver at 2.00 pm so I can take my usual two doses of Gabapentin on the flight, I will land at about 4.00 pm Canadian time. Any suggestions to how I can manage the time change would be very welcome. The thought of jet lag combined with out of control RLS is frightening. I tried to discuss

Is anyone's tinnitus episodic?
Hi, I've been having tinnitus for around 5-6 months now. I previously had it for a few months back in 2018. Back then it was more of a soft fuzzy sound, whereas now it's more of a high pitched ring and it's a bit louder. It eventually seemed to go away. I guess I'm clinging on to the hope that I might

Melatonin stirs up Tinnitus
All the literature nearly universally says that melatonin is good for tinnitus based on clinical trials and personal experiences Tinnitus UK is not particularly supportive of melatonin I must be an outlier as melatonin really stirs my tinnitus up Just wondering if anyone else considers melatonin
