I had a text saying my results are ok. Then I had a call from the surgery to have a follow up phone appointment on 9th June!

This was retesting my results (as my previous test taken 23/03/2023 (over 2,000 B12 level) had extremely high B12. )

This test was taken 19/5/23. B12 was 959

I will add my previous test results below this one my latest results,

as looking at both tests my B12 appears to have dropped dramatically from my blood test 23/3/23 to my test 19/05/2023.

I have a phone appointment with my GP on 09/06/2023.

Any advice on the above results would be appreciated.

Would my drop in B12 in an 8 week period be usual?

Many thanks to all.I hope this makes sense now I have tried to add results together. This is my 3rd attempt!

Many thanks.

Hi. Scientist, not medic.

These results look very, very normal to me. 'Nothing to see here' in all probability.

Funnily enough if you inject B12 and then take a sample, the result will be much higher, and will settle down over time. In around 24 hours the excess will have been added to the outflow to the local sewage works, and then the water company will [no, let's not go there.]

If you're sufficiently equipped and able, then a spreadsheet, showing each result against time, is a good way to store them. Even better, it's easy to chart them against time. You can spot trends easily [Is the MCV rising? Is the Hb falling? etc.]

FlipperTD , thank you so much for looking over my test results for me. Yes I think a spreadsheet would be a great idea. Maybe over time I could understand the way it works better! Thank you that will be my job to be done very soon. I really appreciate your input and explanation! 😊
