Organ Donation for Transplant and Research
This post is talking about Organ Donation upon Death, so please take care to choose to read on further.
I recently went down to the Blood and Transplant Service Head Office in Bristol and attended a workshop on the importance of organ research. There were four of us fellow liver transplantees

Prednisone for treatment of AIG
I've just been started on Prednisone or Prednisolone, immunosuppressant steroids, for treatment of Autoimmune Gastritis/autoimmune PA. This has recently, within the last few years been shown to possibly heal AIG, although not entirely cure. It is also used to prevention immune system rejection of organ

Travel to Gambia post Liver Transplant
I had a Liver transplant in 2019 and recovered well. I have travelled to Europe and the States since, however, I need to visit family in The Gambia with all the vaccines that entails. Has anyone post Liver transplant got experience of not having the live Yellow Fever vaccine and travelling to The Gambia

21 Days post-transplant – Monuments and Monarchs
I am mindful that, as I post this, there are many people not as fortunate as me, having received a liver transplant. I was finally deemed ready for discharge home on day 12, after some fine tuning of tacrolimus levels and a phosphate infusion. A low phosphate was thought to be contributing a tremor

Rebound Depression After Experience w/Life Coach
Today I feel so abysmally low that words can't express it. I am writing just because I think it might be therapeutic. I found my Life Coach's email address yesterday (he had been hiding it) and also the fact that he once had a website that is now defunct. So, I sent him an email telling him how much

Nephrostomy
Could be a long story and not sure I am in the right community. Apologies in advance.Had a Liver transplant due to PSC in 2006. In 2013 got PTLD. The Lymphoma was cured but it damaged one of my ureters. Since then I have had ureteric stents replaced every 6 months to keep the ureter open. The last few

Shampoo recommendation
Hello! On 16 May 2024, I had a kidney transplant. Please recommend me a shampoo that I can use after I had a kidney transplant and steroids are administered to me, my hair is falling out. I am interested in receiving information and socializing with people who have had a kidney transplant. Thanks

Omni eye surgery
Like some who have had kidney issues I have also experienced eye issues and had to undergo omni glaucoma surgery. Due to the multiple medications I already take for blood pressure and transplant many of the eye drops available for glaucoma have poor interactions with my system and result in serious side

PBC LIFE
I was diagnosed with PBC and 2017. My alkaline phosphate levels were 277. I was told I was gonna go in the liver transplant list or I was going to die. I was prescribed URSODIOL and Oclavia. My levels started to go down, but I was starting to have a reaction from the Oclavia, causing me to have eczema

F3/F4 Diagnoses
Hi All. This is my first post. I had a fibroscan back in July and the nurse who performed it told me I had high-level F3, possibly creeping into F4. I’ve been referred to the Cirrosis Surveillance Team at my local hospital, but my first appointment isn’t until the middle of October. I’ve done a lot of

Anybody use CBD cream for arthritis?
CBD cream question. I was pretty surprised when the hand surgeon I saw yesterday recommended I use CBD creme on my arthritic thumbs twice a day. I can't take any anti inflammatory drugs because of my chronic kidney disease. Even aspirin is likely to hurt my kidneys. Since I'm on the kidney transplant
