Liver Transplant Recipients
If you're a liver transplant recipient, please consider taking part in a new study by NHS Blood and Transplant and Imperial College. The ‘MELODY’ study is looking into the antibody response to COVID-19 in people who are immunosuppressed and vaccinated. To take part, you'll need to be over 18 years

Im going in to hospital today having my assessment for my liver transplant. I'm a bit worried about the tests, I'm especially worried about the treadmill as i dont walk very well because of nerve pain 🙃

FRUSTRATED ON INACTIVE LIST
Georgia has one of the longest wait times for
organ
transplants in the country! Oh, and unfortunately, the Humana
Transplant
Coordinator who used to approve the insurance left her job and went to a different division of Humana. I cannot find out who took her place (she was GREAT!).

Finally got my cornea graft date. Going to try local anastethia for the first time after having multiple invasive procedures under general Anastasia. I’m a bit scared. Not too much but would love to hear good experiences of local Anastasia. Thank you

Xenotransplantation of pig heart
Hello everyone. I’m sure we have all read about the recent pig kidneys transplanted into humans successfully. Well, it appears it’s been done again but this time it looks like a heart transplant was done. It’s too early to tell, but this case here seems to be more beneficial towards making it a reality

CD19 CAR-T cell therapy for B-ALL achieved remarkable efficacy with a complete remission of 70–90%
This looks interesting but way over my knowledge base. Perhaps some of you super brains can figure this out. In recent years, the increasing advancements and applications of cellular immunotherapy have enabled the use of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy, and it has emerged as an efficacious

New, targeted therapy inhibits specific immune cells associated with lupus nephritis
'Intervention targets T cells rather than multiple immune cell types," Prof. Chaim Putterman says. Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus), an autoimmune disease in which the body recognizes and attacks its own tissues, can affect many organs, including the kidneys. About fifty percent of patients diagnosed

Did any kidney transplant people have high antibodies
Hello I’m on the transplant list I was hoping to get a transplant before dialysis but don’t know if it will happen . I had one offer that didn’t work out I found out then I am going to be hard to match cause I have high antibodies. I wasn’t even aware there was such a thing. How long did you wait before

Shaking
I received a kidney transplant in 2008. For the last few months I have been shaking a lot especially my hands. Taking 4 mg. of Prograf. Doctor increased it because level was low on blood test. Has anyone experienced this kind of shaking? Thanks

New Year, new lungs?
Entering 2022, I'm not disappointed to be waving goodbye to 2021. Covid ruled over us all in the early part of the year and then reared its ugly head again at the end of the year to add further anxiety and stress. However, for someone who up until March was having to shield, in reality it never really

Happy to be here!
With everything that's been going on with my lung disease over the past few years, I often forget just how fortunate I am to still be here. In September 2003 I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia at the age of 18. I was totally blindsided and the future looked bleak. The amazing treatments

Liver cancer support suggestion for my brother
Hello all. One of my older brothers was diagnosed with liver cancer summer 2021. Unbeknownst to his siblings, he was drinking heavily the past few years. It caught up to him with this diagnosis. He lives in Brooklyn several hundred miles from us. We didn’t see him during covid so the alcohol abuse
