Verification of new law.
Nightdancer -the law is going to require all
opiates
to be transmitted electronically straight to pharmacy and limiting to a 7 day supply. This has been as a result of the attrition rate in US.

Oxycontin substitute?
I am wondering if anyone has tried anything else that might be covered and might help him with the nerve pain, since our primary Dr told us that actually
opiates
don't help with nerve pain much.

Anyone used low dose natroxen?
Since I can't take strong painkillers like
opiates
, ( serious allergies)and my RA pain can be truly awful, someone suggested I try low dose natroxen, but I believe it is "off list" here in the UK, although licensed in the USA .

Naproxen? Advice on duration?
I still take them now and again because I refuse to take
opiates
and originally was given naproxen because it is the safest anti-inflammatory to o'e's stomach, especially with omeprazole as well. So my question is this: Has everyone been told this about naproxen? ie Short-term-use only!

New Member with Upcoming Nerve Block
The hydrocodone I've been taking for years for arthritis in my right knee barely makes a dent in the pain and I don't want to increase my useage of
opiates
. If anybody has any insights or suggestions I would love to hear them. Like many others here this problem has turned my life upside down.

Alcohol usage with opiates ?
I take both Zomorph and Coedine, (for Sciatica, see my contributions elsewhere) - - advice says "avoid alcohol" - now does avoid mean not one single drop must pass my lips, or drink very moderately. My alcohol of choice is low-ish alcohol content light Rose wine - normally I'd have one/two glasses with

Lyrics and butran patch
hi all, don't post here often but always read everyone's posts. I had an appointment at the pain clinic today. after sitting waiting for half an hour i felt my phone ring, looked at it and found a missed call from my consultant. Spoke to the receptionist to be told I was down for a phone consultation

So tired!!!
Its made to help addicts get off
opiates
but it seems to help my pain. Only problem is it makes me sleepy. Thank you for letting me whine a little lol. I'm new here so I'm wondering how people manage their pain?

Hyperalgesia - How to detox/withdraw from opiates
Hi I have been taking Targinact and Oxycodone for years, along with various other pain medications for CRPS and Fibromyalgia. Now the Pain Specialist want me to get off these drugs, as they could now be doing more harm than good. However, I am expected to do this on my own, with no medical intervention

Hello to everyone in this wonderful community
As I already take
opiates
for my arthitic pain and I cannot have anti inflamatorys because of stomach issues I think this could be a difficult path. i was on Amytriptaline until recently but it left me with a hangover.

Feeling Discouraged
I just got home from my first visit to the neurologist, and I wanted to update all of you who might be curious as to what transpired since my last post (by the way, thank you to all who responded - I appreciate all of the advice!). So, the neurologist did indeed diagnose me with RLS. He prescribed Gabapentin
