What to do ?
It seems pointless to take
opiates
that do little to help but cause side effects. I measure biometrics via Fitbit, my ehealth etc I have noticed a significant reduction in activity. I also have significantly less sleep. I am concerned that I am doing harm.

Lung Cancer is a National Epidemic. Join us Nov 2 in Washington DC.
Lung Cancer is a National Epidemic. The president recently declared opiate related deaths an epidemic that has reached National Emergency Status. 91 people die from it everyday. Why then isn't lung cancer a National Emergency? 433 people die every day from lung cancer. 433 people died from lung cancer

opiate induced insomnia
Hell everyone, I'm wondering whether anyone else has shared my experience with
opiates
. I have been experimenting with rotating codeine and tramadol for my RLS. They both work to eradicate symptoms. But after a couple of weeks they stop me sleeping.

Life and Breath Rally in Washington DC November 2
A group of lung cancer advocates recently got their backs up when our President declared the opiate crisis as a national emergency. We know it is a big, big problem - 91 Americans die every day from an opiate overdose - but 433 Americans die every day from lung cancer, almost five times as many. 433

Hi
Hi all, I'm new to this group. I have suffered from depression in the past, about 10/11 years ago and was sent to a counselor that I thought was great and really helped me. This time, after a tricky time in my marriage, I started getting panic attacks. I went straight to the doctor and was put on

Augmentation, opiates, benzodiazepines
I read a lot on here about the danger of augmentation with dopamine agonists and of switching to
opiates
. But from what I read,
opiates
are also dopamine agonists. My doc is probably about as keen to let me have
opiates
or even benzodiazepines as offer an alcohol a drink.

Pain relief products that I've found helpful
Since I've yet to experience any relief from my RA, I must rely on pain meds and pain relief devices to get me through the day. While no drug, device, or product has helped much with my pain, I wanted to share with folks some of the things that at least offer some relief, even if subtle. If you'd like

Lightning strike
Was walking happily down the road last Friday. Then I suddenly lost balance (didn't fall) and grabbed a fence. Went back home tree-to tree and was finally helped across the road by a passer by. Still couldn't walk so I called 111. They sent a "crisis team" and they shipped me to hospital where I still

A second medication-advice from DR.B

I thought that people may be interested to learn what Dr. Buchfuhrer said. Bearing in mind I asked for something that I

Chronic pain with so much to live for but so little feelings of wanting to.
Pain meds help a great deal when I have to or need to to go somewhere with my family but with the government issues and the crackdown on
opiates
I had to cut back on taking those. Just another thing to make my days much more difficult.

A second medication
Hi everyone. I'm after a bit of advice. I'm looking for something I can take for RLS a couple of times a week that it not an opiate. I already take codeine but can't take it every day due to tolerance build up-it just doesn't work when I do that.I don't want to take a dopamine agonist for fear of augmentation

THE EYES HAVE IT
It was very nice, however, to meet a doctor who understands chronic pain and doesn't just want to throw
opiates
at it. He does a lot with nerve blocks, which I think is what I need for behind my knee.

Taking Tramadol with LDN for ME/ CFS and Fibromyalgia.
Morning All! I just started on 0.5 LDN this week. I have ME/ CFS, Fibromyalgia and I'm Hypothyroid (so taking T4 Levothryoxine and T3 Liothyronine) LDN makes me feel nauseous the minute I take it, and the nausea sticks around for fifteen minutes or so, but I'm already sleeping better and am looking forward

To the streets
I have been told by some medical professionals that all opiate patients are gonna have there meds taken except for cancer patients. Is this a scare tactic or fact?????? I have seen people who are in terrible pain loose their pain management and have had to stop their job. Suffering. No quality of life

The best RLS solution used for the last 300 years
Willis in his description of this disease in 1685 also reported on the benefits of
opiates
for treating the symptoms. Thus for over 300 years
opiates
remained the only truly effective treatment for this disease.
