Itching with morphine and Oxycontin
Unfortunately I have no response from most analgesics, and I tend to avoid things unless my pain is really bad. (I have tried regular doses.) However, taking an opiate at night can keep me awake literally all night with itching all over my body. Antihistamines and local applications have been unsuccessful

Pain Negatively Affects Cognition in Fibromyalgia
"Our hypothesis was the opposite — that
opiates
disrupt cognitive function — but it makes sense; it reduces pain intensity so people can concentrate better," said Dr. Duschek.

Help and information needed please
Whats concerning me the most is, I have read that
opiates
can help relive the symptoms but I am on a very strong opiate medicine and it dosnt seem to help. Should I go to my doctor and explain this to them? Are UK doctors up to date with this syndrome?

Severe tiredness due to opiates and prgabalin. Any suggestions?
Hi all :-) I have posted a couple of times but wanted to make this one more specific to the energy loss because of pain meds. My pain is reasonably well controlled but I have NO energy. I sleep everywhere and anywhere! Does anyone else experience this? I understand it is the lesser of two evils, but

what drugs are opiates
I do not quite understand all these drugs and what are
opiates
. I take ropinerole (an opiate I think) and have done from before NICE approved of them.

RLS AND OPIATES
I HAVE FOUND THROUGH ACCIDENT THAT DIHYDROCODEINE CONTINUS WORKS SUPERBLY FOR MY RLS BUT CANNOT GET ANY GP TO PRESCRIBE THIS ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE PRESCRIBED MANY PARKINSON RELATED DRUGS ALL OF WHICH HAVE HAD TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS. THE ONLY SIDE EFFECT WITH DHC IS CONSTIPATION (EASILY REMEDIED). MEANWHILE

I wanted to share this infomation, made the pain thing a little more understandable for me
Sometimes
opiates
will provide relief, sometimes not. Sometimes
opiates
combined with anti-depressants helps, sometimes not. Sometimes subcutaneous injections of the dopaminergic apomorphine into the region of pain helps, sometimes not.

For more severe pain pure
opiates
(for example, dihydrocodeine) may be appropriate although these must be used with caution in view of their addictive nature, risk of abuse and the build up of tolerance.

A Better Life Without Sugar
Similar to recreational drug use, sugar has been shown to increase brain concentrations of dopamine and
opiates
which have a significant influence on mood.

In my case that also includes
opiates
to just 'dull' my system enough to 'semi' pass out when its at its worse. I have had to sacrifice alcohol for this but I find it a good swap!

New to Asthma at 52 and phobic about choking!
Hi! I have spent 23 years suffering from chronic back pain and it has often been pretty horrendous along my journey through life. However, most of the time I remain positive and indeed would probably say I am a pretty humourous and outgoing person except when the pain really kicks in. I have a spinal

What a day
I went with a friend to Omaha (50 miles away) to Laurentzen Gardens and we walked through the building and then on a path all the way to the gate at the end. I had my coat unzipped until the return walk. It was probably about 55 degrees but there was a breeze. The Gardens are so beautiful, at all times
