Sulfasalazine questions :)
Hello! I'm new here and this is my first post so I hope I'm doing this right :). I'm 35 and am being treated for an inflammatory arthritis. I just started treatment a few months ago. I was started on Sulfasalazine and worked my way up to 4 pills a day. I didn't have any side effects really and after

foot support
Can't blame this on pmr but getting lower on pred has made it more apparent. I have arthritis in big toe and the joint seems to have flattened. Gp has suggested support insole for under the toe joint, but have been flummoxed looking at t'interweb options. Can anyone recommend something suitable, please

Everything that I have been complaining about for 8 years has now been seen on MRI. The private MRI that I paid for last week. Some of the best money I have ever spent. Not only do I have 'florid' synovitis in my hands, I have widespread enhanced bone erosions in both hands and feet. I also have

PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS
I supposedly have psoriatic arthritis/tendinopathy however there is no evidence in my blood. My tendons attaching to elbows and feet become extremely painful. I was put on MTX 15ml injections for 8 months but stopped as my blood cells were slightly enlarged and the jury is out if it was even working

Seronegative RA with OA in the Lumbar and Cervical Spine
I have a diagnosis of Seronegative Rheumatoid Arthritis with underlying Osteoarthritis in the lumbar and cervical spine. My question is one of exercise - The GP has made a referral to Physiotherapy - I'm expecting that this will take a while for an appointment to come through, in the meantime I'd love

Hi, new to this group. I have an appointment next week with a rheumatologist as my GP suspects I may have psoriatic arthritis. I have flare ups of psoriasis and in recent years have had swelling in my knees and pain in many joints when i have a flare up, and sometimes when I don’t even have any psoriasis

Muscle pain relief through thyroid meds
I have a torn cartilage and osteoarthritis in my left hip. At night I have pain in my hip and back but after I take my T4 and T3 tablets the pain dissipates. Has anyone else experienced this? Or have any ideas about the mechanisms involved? Thanks in advance.

Secondary hypothyroidism
Has anyone had problems with central hypothyroidism and their tsh going to zero. Doctor refusing to raise levothyroxine because it will suppress tsh to much but my free t4 really needs a raise. Does a low tsh really cause afib and osteoarthritis or is this false.

steroids and osteoarthritis
I have finally reduced my prednisolone to 2mg, from 25mg. It has taken a log time, but I am coping with the pmr. But now, I'm told the steroids have caused osteoarthritis, and I also keep forgetting everyday names of things. Do you think this is related? Also, I haven't even lost an ounce of the

Not PMR
I have been told that I don't have PMR from my rheumatologist but rheumatoid arthritis so must I leave this invaluable site and find one more suitable for my ailment? If so I will be sorry to miss my family of helpers.

Hip pain
I have taken prednisone for6years and am now on 4mg. Recently I have been getting a lot of pain in hips so wonder if it's worth increasing my dosage to 5mg for a while. I also have osteoarthritis so it could be that. In the past I have had good advice from the forum can you help now thank you.

Hello and happy new year everyone!! Aching legs when I walk more then 50 yards (in a nutshell)!!
Hello All, It's been ages since I wrote a post. I have been relatively OK for a while and then went down hill middle of December with my annual COPD freakout chest infection - heavy duty antibiotics sorted that out but of course, as I have discovered, "old age don't come alone". I am 70 now and although

Arthritis in Lower back
Had an MRI due to unbearable pain in left leg. Symptoms very like sciatica except the pain is down the side of my leg into the foot. Well the results showed arthritis in the spine. I just want to know why I do not have pain in the back but in my leg. The consultation with the doctor was over the

Cramps
I have been having a few problems with my hands lately, stiffness etc which my GP originally put down to old age and arthritis, but just lately I have been getting cramp in my left hand which can be painful, do you think this could be due to arthritis or possibly something else?
