Any advice for dealing with extreme anxiety of having to remove and replace hormonal coil?
So I had the mirena coil fitted about 2 years ago. Although everything has been great, I had an absolutely horrific insertion (I lost consciousness on the bed and vomited afterwards from the pain). I’m normally able to brush this experience off but tonight I’ve just been filled with this horrific sense

Constant bleeding- bright red and clots... is this normal?!
Hi All, I was diagnosed with endo in November via MRI scan (2cm lesion detected on ovary) and PCO but not PCOS (I have the cysts but not the syndrome) earlier in May via trans vaginal ultrasound. My symptoms are severe pain in my abdomen/pelvis, awful cramping in my lower back, severely swollen boobs

Are there any connections?
Hi there, I was referred to a gastroenterologist and a gynaecologist a few weeks ago due to a blood test result of 3.5 hemoglobin level, I am a bit annoyed with my GP as I’ve been getting results of low iron deficiency for years and told just to eat more leafy greens. The gastroenterologist gestured

When will the Mirena coil start helping me?
Hi, I had the mirena coil put in about a month ago to help with heavy painful periods. I am currently on my period but I haven't seen much change with the pain or heaviness. It's still early days of having it fitted so I will give it longer to take effect but I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long

Mirena coil - I want to stick it out but struggling!!
Hi everyone I know there are lots of posts around this but I was wondering how long people bled for and were in pain once having the Mirena fitted? I feel like I have a football in my stomach and I’m bleeding non- stop I’ve only had it in for 20days so I know it’s early days and I really want to give

3 months post laparoscopy. Is it normal to still be having these symptoms...?
I've just come across this forum and I am really hopeful you all can help me better understand what is happening as Im beginning to feel rather hopeless about it all... Im 19 years old and I had a laparoscopy 3-4 months ago to diagnose and then to treat moderate to severe endo following years of worsening

Booked to get a Mirena fitted and am worried - any good news stories?!
Hi everyone, I'm quite new to the endo world and have read so many horror stories that I wondered if any of you have had a positive experience of getting the Mirena fitted. I first went to my GP about 14 months ago (I appreciate this is a quick timescale in the grand scheme of things!) with heavy/late

Natural cycles with endo
Hi everyone, I have been diagnosed with endometriosis for 2 years now and got the mirena coil fitted during my lap. I’m currently thinking about getting my coil removed and either going back on the pill or just having a natural cycle for a few months. I was just wondering if anyone has come of contraception

hysteroscopy or Laparoscopy? and Mirena?
Hsyterocscopy or Laparoscopy? I have stage 4 endo with bowel involvement. It's a long involved story (I'm 47) but have only ever had a diagnostic lap 7 years ago as kept resisting hormone treatments and other surgery. At the mo, I have pain problems in right ovary and fallopian tube and regular spotting

Mirena Coil blood clotting - endo
Hi, I’m 25 and 4 weeks post-op. I had the mirena fitted during the operation and experienced normal spotting for a couple of days. No bleeding for a while but now I’m on my 12th day of bleeding non stop! Started as a period then just spotting but still fresh blood coming out. My biggest concern is that

Mini pill & coil thoughts 💭
Good morning! I hope everyone is enjoying a pain free start to their days.. I was diagnosed with endo in 2015 and have had 2 children since. My last baby was born January 2020 and my periods came back in October and so did my pain. I’m on the waiting list for a mirena coil as this was recommended by

Endo and bowel problems...
Hello everyone, I haven’t been on this page in so long but it looks like surgery might be needed again after having my first lap in July 2017. I was put on the mirena coil but after the 1 year mark I had to have it removed as it wasn’t agreeing with me and making me really poorly. Up until September

Double dose POP
Hi Hoping someone can help? I’ve been taking Qlaira for 18 months but the last 6 months I’ve had increased bleeding for 10-12 days, nausea for 3-4 days so all in all not great. Through the GP, gynae recommended either 1. Double dose Progesterone only pill 2. Mirena coil plus progesterone pill 3. Mirena

Mirena could and mood swings
Hi, I have a laparoscopy and Mirena cool fitted in early September. In the last month I have noticed my mood has changed. I am more anxious, nervous, paranoid, short and snappy and wondered whether anyone else has felt similar? May just be me and the covid blues ( which I don’t think helps). I also

Fed up feeling like this - should I push for another lap?
Hello everyone, I'm new here so let me tell you a little about my story... I'm 25 and have been diagnosed with endo following a laparoscopy about this time last year. I got my periods really late in life (age17/18), but every single one has been painful and heavy (and my cycle averages about 20 days

Treatment for endometriosis if estrogen is not an option?
My daughter has been newly diagnosed with endometriosis. She is not keen on having the Mirena coil (initial recommendation) so the the doctor wanted to put her on the pill to stop progression but it transpired she cannot take it because of migraines and the associated risk. Now the doctor is saying
