Hi there everyone,

I’ve has pcos since I was 14 and I’m now 23.

I have had pcos since I was 14 and in the past 9 years I really have not seem to have made any sort of progress. I’ve never had regular periods and in the past couple of years they have become non existent, but if I have had one in a blue moon they’ve been crippling and caused me to faint and vomit (which isn’t like me, I usually can be pretty good with pain!)

In the past year or so I’ve began to get constant pelvic pain despite not having periods, and my excess hair (face and tummy) growth has been getting worse. I am very lucky as my weight has managed to stay down but I do watch my diet and exercise regularly. Despite trips to the doctors, and trying 9 different contraceptive pills, the symptoms, particularly the stomach pain have continued getting worse. Have any of you experienced constant pelvic pain as a result of your pcos? If so, have you tried any sort of treatments that have helped? As my doctor seems to think unless I am ready to start a family, I am a lost cause.

I also have been told the mirena coil is my last resort for symptom relief, have any of you used this before?

Sorry for the long post, but as it’s coming up to 10 years of this it’s starting to feel like a bit of a long haul which I don’t think will rectify itself in time like I was told it would when I was 14. Keeping it all to myself is wearing me a little thin so would be nice to speak to some other women going through the same thing, whatever age 😊

Thank you SO much for taking the time to read this! Any answers are appreciated ❤️

Hi. I have the mirena coil (I’m 48). The coil was supposed to help with ‘unexplained pelvic pain’ and mood swings (I also have a dose of oestrogen daily as hrt). And it has helped. The first period after the coil was the worst ever, with pain all down the legs as well for 2 days, but now I feel well. My life has improved.

I was told at aged about 16 that it would all settle down after my first baby. I had my first baby when I was 34 ... so that advice was terrible. Don’t wait for it to ‘settle down’ 😀

Thank you so much for that, it’s so nice to hear something positive about it! Obviously of looking for a cure, but an improvement would be nice. Yes I agree, that’s a long time to wait for it to settle! Hope you continue to feel better and better ❤️
