This link was really useful when I was getting started, and getting and idea of how LCHF might be tackled! Reposting this here in case it might be useful for anyone looking to learn more. https://healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet/posts/138312587/low-carb-induction

PRAL/DAL/NEAP and CKD. You on an acid trip?
It can very well be that one reason why the science points towards a very
low

protein
diet
+ ketoacidanalogues as kidney-sustaining, derives from the fact that such a diet is low acid. What do folk think of acidic as a factor to be managed?

Occasional sin - carbs
I have been really good on a very low carb no sugar regime. Does anyone else have a day/meal that involves lots of carbs. Tempted to occasionally have fish and chips or a very carb orientated pizza!

Eat like the Queen
I've been binge-watching this guy's videos lately, and came across this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7j7x_ojSHk It turns out that HM is a low-carb fan ... although mainly, it seems, as a cunning plan to offset the indulgence of afternoon tea. Skip through to 8:23 if you don't have time for the whole

Puzzled by asthma symptoms and then no symptoms
Last year I suffered from symptoms that lead me to suspect late onset asthma. On several occasions I woke in the night with difficulty breathing. I was suffering from frequent coughing fits and on two terrifying occasions found my self gasping for breath after a short walk. Phone conversations with

Proctitis flare - how best to manage
Recent science/Kidney authority recommendations indicate that a very

Chronic chest pain is making me crazy
Hello lovely people, I hope my cry for help is on the right forum. I've been having bad chest tightness and breathlessness for about 4 months now and it's progressive... Been calling my GP and going to a&e many times with chest x-ray, blood work, ECG results that were fine. No spirometer test as gp said

AKI ... Contrast Induced
I was put on a very
low
protein
diet
and, over a few weeks, the levels have gradually improved. Latest readings are creatinine 1.31 & Gfr 45. Where does that leave me now! will I still be in AKI status and until when?

Saturated fat: extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof
Humans have been eating saturated fats since before we were human, before we were hominids, before we were primates, before we were mammals. Seed oils have been around in quantity for a little over 100 years. Rapeseed oil/canola was poisonous until the 1970s. The claim that a fat that we have been eating

Long-term asthma recovery queries
Hi all, I suppose this is a general question about long-term asthma recovery, as this is uncharted territory for me. Or if it's even asthma-related. In May 2020, I had several asthma attacks, which heavily restricted my mobility for the remainder of the year. I used to go to the gym twice a week, play
