Peak flow meter
Hi. I have just had two weeks of steroids and had to measure my peak flow daily. It averaged out at 85.
Pete doesn’t get to 200 but if your unsure Ken, check with your GP or respiratory nurse if you have one. You take care. Xxx😘
I have stage 4 emphysema and never use a peak flow meter. I did once try it when a GP prescribed one for my husband while doing some investigations and blew 100 and that was about 2 years ago. My understanding is that peak flow meters are primarily for people with asthma to monitor their lung function.
Its a handy tool really Ken. It's that it's useful to know your own normal measurement so that you recognise when it drops. If it drops it can be a sign that something's up.
Peak flow is dependent on yourself Best to see someone to get tested and give you your best result then work from there. X
I get between 240 and 350, and my asthma is well controlled and my COPD has improved to the bottom end of normal. My peak flow had been lower than others for years before my diagnosis.
