Asthma Novice at 32
Hi folks, so I was diagnosed with 'mild asthma' as a late teen. Got the little white inhaler and a few days if be fine. I then had it return 5 years ago at 27 when pregnant and got a blue inhaler. Can you tell I'm a proper novice? Figured I'd grown out of it as I've had no issues since... Until 3 weeks

Reducing saturated fat intake may delay progression in men with MYC amplification
This was only a mouse study, but they also looked at animal fat/saturated fat intake of metastatic men treated at some top institutions. They found an association between dietary saturated fat intake and PC lethality in men with metastatic disease who had a specific kind of tumor mutation called MYC

Awaiting diagnosis for asthma...peak flow 350...36 yr old female
Hi all, So I am awaiting my spirometry referral. I am 36 and have had symptoms for years but just thought I was someone quite unfit despite walking a lot or my anxiety was causing my breathlessness sometimes. I decided to go to the GP after recent allergy tests (I do not have any allergies but

LCHF: what to expect
We're getting quite a few new members here and some questions crop up regularly, so I think it's time for a bit of LCHF mythbusting. Feel free to add to this list.
How quickly will I lose weight on LCHF?
There's no way of knowing. There's no magic to LCHF - it's just a healthy diet. When you eat

Wheezy but ok
Hi, still awaiting my actual diagnosis but I have a question. I'm on brown inhaler and have blue one too. Last few days I've had cold but I've also noticed I get wheezy about the same time every evening. My peak flow readings aren't bad and I don't feel bad. I took my blue inhaler but it had no effect

Low Carb eating or anti-inflammatory?
With the situation of whether I have PMR or just bouts of Osteo-Arthritis - I want to do everything I can to eat the right diet. I sent off for a low carb diet book, it hasn’t arrived yet. I have got an anti-inflammatory diet for beginners book though. Does anyone know if these two plans endorse

Result....after one month of IF and LCHF
Simply put came from 87.3 to 85.5 in a month. I am so happy especially because I didn't work out much since I've been recovering from a dislocated knee. Now that I've getting back to my old self and will be working out I can't wait for next month's weigh in. Thanks for all the support

Stuck in asthma limbo
Hi all. I’ve come here to have a little moan/rant about being stuck in that phase of asthma where you’re not bad enough to go to hospital but are definitely not ‘well’ in the sense of feeling good and being able to do normal things. Since having a cold-induced flare up about four weeks ago I’ve been

Anyone
Going out on a limb here but how many people have done a low fat diet for example Slimming World and later have been diagnosed with a Thyroid problem. Only asking as a few women I know who have thyroid problems have also done said diet, is there a link?

Gluten Free / anti-bodies
Hi. For the last 5 months I've been gluten free, as I was trying to reduce my thyroid anti-bodies. In May they were TPO 79, and it's now 70. The TG was 616 and is now 520. To me that's not a lot of difference, and I feel no different. I admit there are more options at the shops these days, but eating

How To End A Diet?
I've been dieting for a few months now after I was diagnosed as "insulin resistant". I basically went on a 5:2 Diet with a low carb bias and radically increased my level of exercise. It's all worked pretty well and I'm now approaching my target weight. However, I'm conscious that only a depressingly

Life after pramipraxole
I got off pramipaxiole a little less than a month ago. Withdrawal was hell but worth it. My life has greatly improved. I am working on a a very low sugar and gluten-free diet. My sleep has improved so much! I do think diet is very important with this condition. Life can be good again, but it is hard

Thank You
Hello folks, Thank you for your support. I shall be staying as what I espouse is more important than my outrage. However, I have had no response whatsoever from whomever moderates this forum. I have been involved with the low carb movement for at least 10 years and know what I'm talking about - I understand

Nearly 8 months off the fags
Well con't believe how easy I've found giving up the dreaded cancer sticks after 35 years, couldn't have done it without Champix and my lovely smoking cesation nurse Sara, whom I have become great friends with, we meet up once a month to have a gossip which is great. Yes champix was horrid at times but
