I got off pramipaxiole a little less than a month ago. Withdrawal was hell but worth it. My life has greatly improved. I am working on a a very low sugar and gluten-free diet. My sleep has improved so much! I do think diet is very important with this condition. Life can be good again, but it is hard work. There is hope!!!

Life after pramipraxole
Great to hear senders. I too recently stopped Pramipexole and yes, there is hope.
I am currently benefitting from taking Gabapentin, otherwise, same story.
I'm not entirely lazy, the Gabapentin is also for my neuropathy, currently more of a problem than my RLS.
Very well done, senders 👏🏻. And thanks for posting. Apart from the low-sugar gluten-poor diet, are you currently taking any other meds for your RLS? And how severe is your RLS now that withdrawal reactions etc have settled?
So pleased for you. Always good to read posts like this. Gives others hope. X
I am taking a quarter pill of trazadone to help sleep through the night. I wake up around 2 times a night once to go to the bathroom and the other I think is due to my restlessness. My rls is mild now that I am off pramipraxole. It was awful when I was on the drug. I wake up rested which when I was on pramipraxole never happened. Like I said in my previous post I am very careful of what I eat. I am trying to eat all organic vegetables, no gluten and very little if any processed foods and sugar.
When I do wake up because of the rls I am only awake for a few minutes. Getting off that drug( poison for me) was the best thing I ever did!!!
Well done, I know how hard that journey is!
I now just take 200mg gabapentin at night (with regular Fe, B12 and vit D )
So pleased for you and delighted you can manage without meds. Bravo for sticking with the plan to get off pramipexole.
A simple question if I start taking gabapentin will it help with my insomnia?
