Hello folks,

Thank you for your support.

I shall be staying as what I espouse is more important than my outrage.

However, I have had no response whatsoever from whomever moderates this forum.

I have been involved with the low carb movement for at least 10 years and know what I'm talking about - I understand the science and will go toe to toe with any doctor or dietician who disagrees with me - those doctors and dieticians too idle to challenge the current paradigm.

What got my back up was when I highlighted the hypocrisy of an obese Portuguese health minister and a Greek smoking health minister I was censured.

I was astonished that people somehow could find the wherewithal to defend their positions. Seriously - a Greek health minister smoking on the front bench of an anti-smoking conference?

I got push back and in that respect I adopt the Voltaire principle:

“I wholly disapprove of what you say—and will defend to the death your right to say it.”

That applies to anyone on this forum, but if your only recourse is to ask for a post to be deleted, your argument is lost.

Well we'll never know who will we ... as hopefully you've gathered, there's a lot of us who agree with Voltaire (plead guilty to recognising the quote but wouldn't have got the author right!)

You obviously won't get a response from (probably) a computer - I'm sure HU don't read posts, so you'll only get any sort of response by contacting them direct ....

Mike - when we were first involved with HU, it was a company based in York. Did a check on the corporate ownership - challenging. Had to log out to obtain access. London and NY. Still challenging to get to the corporate info.

From my perspective? HU sucks!

Never really thought about this before - how do they make money? Doesn't sound like a charity! Please keep us informed of your research

Mike also asks a good question "how do they make their income?"

According to this page: healthunlocked.com/policies... the company name is 'Everything Unlocked Limited': beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/... . It describes its actitivities as

Nature of business (SIC)

63110 - Data processing, hosting and related activities

63120 - Web portals

Looking at their accounts Page 6, item 9 states:

"Related Party Disclosures: As at 31st May 2019, Healthunlocked Inc, owes the sum of £329,053 (2018 0 £447,743), which is interest free and repayable on demand".

Trying to find info on HealthUnlocked Inc brings us back to this website. Looking at the people reported here: about.healthunlocked.com/ou..., the first 2 are referenced in the report at Companies House.

This link also makes interesting reading: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healt.... They also have a youtube page with a number of short videos: youtube.com/healthunlocked. This link gives a bit more finanicial info: craft.co/healthunlocked/met... and another: businesswire.com/news/home/....

So unable to find anything relating to HealthUnlocked Inc.

OK ..... ?

Hey I'm not knocking the principles but where does the censorship come in?

I didn’t comment Mike, on the health minister didn’t see the one about the Greek minister smoking. To me it just shows how arrogant politicians are. And I understand we don’t want to get into any nasty stuff, however, you had a valid point, and you should not have been censured in my opinion for it. I just hope the health minister has a good hard look at her photo and does something about it. Unless, she has a health problem and is unable to do anything. Then unfortunately it’s going to be too much for her one day which is very sad indeed. Which is what I felt when I saw the photo, sad.

You welcome. Actually I was shocked at first. And if you hadn’t posted I would be unaware someone would be able to hold a high position under such circumstances. The poor woman has to have days when she feels dreadful and the demands of the job are only going to add to her problems. Certainly not healthy, for sure.
