signs of mild hypothyroidism?
Hi there, New to this forum š grateful to be here š Iām wondering if anyone could shine some light on my thyroid test results. In March 2023 my TSH was 0.98 (range 0.27-4.2), and my T4 was 15.5 (range 12-22) - this was done with a private GP so sadly no T3. These bloods were taken after 12pm and

Moderate eating diary to track instances of GERD.
I have decided to keep a diary, consisting of my stomach condition on rising and the foods and medicines I take thereafter, during the day. And at what point, if any, I have symptoms of Gerd. The idea is is pinpoint what triggers, might be causing the (every 2 days a week or so) of pain and bloating I'm

Wedding coming up. LCHF advice?
Morning all. I have one of my niece's weddings coming up mid September, below are the menu choices. I have chosen menu 1 as it looks overall less dangerous for an LCHF diet. I am happy to "donate" my dessert to one of my massively tall nephews š and not eat any potatoes/bread that might go alongside

I was diagnosed May/June 23. I had just had my diabetes check and all was OK. Fast forward to December check and definitely not ok! I had been eating low carb and had lost weight. Life became very difficult from October with a nasty fall, mental heath crisis for our grandson while we were looking

How I reinvented myself after PMR
I have sat here and thought to myself I havenāt reinvented myself at all, I then thought again and realised that yes I have. Before my symptoms started I worked part time in a major supermarket and would take overtime. I started the symptoms and carried on thinking everything was okay and would improve

Chronic Hashimotos and long term side effects
Hi, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 41 years ago after 6 years of feeling awful. A locum GP spotted a goitre in my throat as I was talking to him. I have been on 100 mcg of Thyroxine ever since. Now I am 66 . I have always suffered from hypoglycaemia-type symptoms after any type of exercise (even

Nausea - is it the pred, or something else?
Hello and thank you for the constant flow of useful insights. I know that stomach problems are a known side effect of steroid use, but I couldnāt see anything under nausea in the FAQs - sorry if Iāve missed it. This is my story: Iām 73, PMR diagnosed in summer 2020; since when I have reduced successfully

Liothyronin T3 and insulin resistance
Iāve been doing some research as my blood sugar levels (measured by HbA1C) have been persistently high despite exercise, low carb diet, weight loss and muscle gain. Prompted by the very wise SlowDragon that T3 can cause high sugars, I decided to delve deeper. I came across a lot of articles online

Is high or low protein better for W&W?
Would love yall's thought on which better in W&W, high or low protein diet, if either. I am thinking about this because last week blood test shows me teetering on the edge of insufficient IgG, which I have been before -- and found articles indicating I need to eat more protein. But wondering what affects

Visit to endocrinologist and Prednisone at wee hours.
I visit my, very helpful, endocrinologist every three months. Yesterday we were discussing my medication and I was telling her that I was taking prednisone at around 2-4 am in the morning -when I got up . She asked me why take it at night? Well, I had a garbled expression as to how we think about

T3 only and feeling a bit desperate
I have been taking T3 only for a handful of years now and for a couple of them on a LCHF diet I was happy enough. I lost weight, and felt good. In October 2020 I restarted HRT (I still had/have) hot flushes, but within 2 months I had started to gain weight and on balance I thought that I would rather
