Is my gluten free diet making any difference?
Hi all. I went on a strict gluten free diet on 30 October 2017 and I’ve just had my most recent results back. They look quite different than before, but not sure if it’s 1) an improvement, and 2) if this change is due to being GF. I did also start supplementing (Vit B Complex, Vit D, Selenium) before

Gluten free and non hashis or coeliac- anyone tried and feel better?
Just wondering if anyone who isn't either hashis or coeliac has found a gluten free diet helpful. I've non stop issues with all the thyroid meds and pondering the root cause. Thx.

Peri-Prostatic Adipose Tissue.
New review below [1]. Details are in the full text, but it's a reminder that visceral fat secretes hormones that can spur PCa growth. A number of studies have measured periprostatic fat thickness & found that it has prognostic value. Which implies that it has an active role in progression. "... several

Nutritionist visit
Finally had an appointment with a very highly regarded nutritionist this week for my pmr. My diet (although would always have a decent dinner) consisted of a lot of bread and sugar. So he has instructed me to cut out sugar and wheat. I have also ordered supplements he recommended to help my new sugar

FODMAP diet and lactose and gluten intolerances
I have been praising the benefits of the FODMAP diet but I have been overlooking a part of my history. I started on the diet path by choosing gluten free foods and this became a habit. When I started on the FODMAP diet I found a big improvement but I continued on the gluten free diet as well, just

Help with blood test results
There's more in my Profile, but in a nutshell I was diagnosed underactive (hypo) in 2009 and have been on levothyroxine ever since. Things were fine until late-2015, then I started to experience the symptoms again with a vengeance. Extreme tiredness, inexplicable weigh gain, fuzzy head, worsening memory

Update on pacemaker install
I had been waiting for surgery for a pacemaker. I've jumped the queue! Last Thursday I collapsed in the bathroom. The implanted monitor showed a pause of almost 9 seconds when reviewed by the Cardiology team. I was brought into the RUH Bath & told I would be staying until the pacemaker is done. The doctor

What RA?
I’ve had RA since I was 27, so 5 years now. There have been many ups and downs with being diagnosed, finding appropriate treatment, changing my lifestyle to a healthier one, etc. I think I finally am on a medication regimen that works! I spent the last year of my life on prednisone. I’m finally off
