Hello everyone I have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. I was diagnosed about 11 years ago after ra came on seemingly overnight. It was the weirdest and frightening experience but it took about a year to get to see a rheumatologist. I was put on methotrexate and it made such a positive difference immediately

Upcoming surgery...what do I say about self medicating Levo?
Hi, I have knee surgery planned and my pre-op assessment is mid March. One of the requirements is to list all prescription meds. As I am currently out on my own (consultant effectively called me a liar, discharged myself; GP not interested) and getting tested privately, do I put down last prescribed

Having to spend 3 days in hospital to restart sotalol. EP says upcoming knee replacement will cause major stress and fatigue, which are my biggest triggers for AFib. Had ablation in June, and have had a couple of episodes, all during times of stress and/or fatigue, Not a happy camper over this.

We were unbelievably lucky today. Having been cooped up over the last couple of weekends due to awful weather (UK peeps will know what I mean), we decided to head over to Portland, Dorset today for a bracing walk. We had full wet weather gear, but didn't need it!! It only rained just as we got back to

CRP 24 threatening to defer my surgery
My CRP has been quite high over the last few months- it was 30 in November and I felt well but then had a PMR flare, so I thought that was that. Then it was measured at the beginning of January and it was 20. I was puzzled as to why- nothing obvious. I had my pre-op last week and my surgeon has just

Arthritis and claiming PIP
I am 40 I have arthritis in both knees and have been told there is nothing they can do only a knee replacement which I am too young to qualify to go on the waiting list for. My mobility is becoming harder and I am allergic to Anti inflammatorys. I can only take pain killers to ease pain. I’m wondering

Questions about post op care
Hello I want to know how I can rest and exercise on my bed after Knee replacement if I cannot get upstairs? My bed is an adjustamatic and too heavy to carry downstairs only by people who are trained to do this. I no longer have a stair lift as I was supposed to have moved before this operation. Any help

Hi everyone! I’m new here... diagnosed with APS in 2011, alongside UCTD. Fast forward to 2018 and I was tested at the recurrent miscarriage clinic but the APS blood tests came back negative (twice). Nervous about stress test
Having knee replacement surgery the end of March. My cardiologist won't release me for the surgery until I have a nuclear stress test. Because of my knee, I can't walk fast enough to do the treadmill portion, so have to have the drug to simulate increased blood flow. Even though my heart has (mostly

Headache
i was diagnosed with PMR on May 26, 2019 and started in prednisone. Currently at 7.5mg/day. I had left TKR on January 24, 2020. I’ve developed pretty severe headaches the last few days, along with blurred vision. Headaches started early AM while sleeping, and resolved once up and around, (as up and around
