Mini pill

Hi everyone, I’ve not been on for a while, I had to have knee surgery and ended up with a DVT!

The month before surgery I had awful pain and bleeding so I told my gynaecologist I needed a break because of the surgery and physio I was facing (I was dreading not being able to get up to go to the loo in hospital or having heaving bleeding!)

Anyway I started the mini pill almost 4 weeks ago and although I’ve had some breakthrough bleeding for a few days (around the time my period would have been due and probably heavier than it would have been because of being on blood thinners for the clot) but this was much more manageable than normal.

Although we’ve been trying to conceive I just needed a break from the endo and adenomyosis pain as my body was worn out. Now I’m on warfarin I can’t get pregnant anyway!

I just wanted to share my positive experience of the mini pill with others as I swore I would never take it again. So far I’ve not had any weight gain or acne (fingers crossed that continues!)
