Nervous about stress test

Having knee replacement surgery the end of March. My cardiologist won't release me for the surgery until I have a nuclear stress test. Because of my knee, I can't walk fast enough to do the treadmill portion, so have to have the drug to simulate increased blood flow. Even though my heart has (mostly) behaved since my ablation in June, I am worried that the drug will cause the AFib to return. Anyone have any experience with this?

I had the chemical stress test and I did not like it one bit. It did not step up the Afib, AT ALL. It made me feel as if a metallic entity was inside me. Lasted less than five minutes but almost had a panic attack! Not really. Just slightly freaked out over that strange feeling. They warned me too.

I had one a few years ago, when they inject the “ rocket fuel”, it felt crazy but they warned me, and it only lasted a few minutes. I did not have any a fib with te test. Not my favorite test but looks like you need it. I just had my knee replaced last fall. My biggest fear was stirring up a fib and thankfully I got thru it and heart behaved.

I had a chemical stress test last week and don't recall any significant episodes but I did after the angiogram this week.

3 weeks before I see the cardiologist. I need to stop looking up test results and the diagnosis and prognosis. So far I have Heart failure, coronary heart disease, PAD and stage 3 kidney failure!!! Do any of you do this too?

I had one in 2012 prior to my aortic valve replacement but I didn't have AF until after my operation.

I had no reaction to the drug and did the cycling part as well but the test gave a false positive and I had to have an angiogram :-)

I also am supposed to have that test and frankly don't want the radioactive stuff in my system :( Can anyone tell me exactly what the test shows and the purpose of it?

It shows your heart function and if you have any blockages or scarring

I had this done on the 17th and 24th of this month. The stress test I didn’t need to have the drugs to speed it up as I was in fast af. The issue was that I had to stop bisopolol for 2 days before, this was a bad mistake as my lungs started filling up whilst I was half way through and I had to stop it.

Returned Friday for rest test and managed it fine as I had taken bisopolol.

I have to say I am very claustrophobic so I was surprised I managed it, especially as I am only 4 ft 11 so they had to bring the camera closer to me.

Just hope they don’t find anything else wrong 🙄
