You don’t say if your knees hurt or are keeping you from doing anything so I’m assuming that you aren’t really having any difficulty. I’ve had one knee replaced and the other one is full of arthritis but it doesn’t hurt so there is no reason to do a replacement.
I'm new on here and I can't exactly answer your question as I turned down knee replacement some years ago as recovery time was 6 weeks and I have no support.
I just wanted to know how you got on with your appointment and whether knee replacement was mentioned again?
hi sorry for the late reply the consultant again said he would do knee replacement when I wanted but he said that you can never leave it too late to have them done so I have decided to wait longer but I do put a lot of hard work in to staying active so to be honest I get very little pain from them they are swollen so I hope I have made the right desion but guess I will never know until I have them done in the future x
I have had two knee replacements 7 months apart. I had the surgery because the pain was horrible and kept me from doing all I wanted to do. There is alot of good information online, but it is a decision you have to make, does it interfere with your quality of life? I can tell you it was the best decision I ever made, besides my L5S1 fusion in my back. I was scared of all the surgeries, but I am so thankful I had them done. It helped tremendously with movement and pain. My Orthopedic did tell me when I asked what if I didn't do the knee replacement, is there a time when it's too late and he said yes, something to do with the muscles & tendons around the knee, I am sure you have seen people where their knee or knees turn way out, that is how long I waited for my right knee. Anyways get online, talk to your doctor, see an Orthopedic and ask all the questions and most of all pray to find the best surgeon. Hope you can get the answers you need😊
Thanks for this. The difficulty is always ‘working through the pain’ to exercise and of course diet when it’s so easy to comfort eat when feeling miserable about your condition. I have been told it is wear and tear and now wear and repair!
