I have been asked to share my story. Make yourself comfy and I will begin .......
In 1988 I went to my G.P. with joint pains which fluctuated around my body. When I booked the appointment I had pain in my neck and shoulders, by the time I saw him it was in my knees and wrists! The pain was put down to my being pregnant (with my second child), hormones etc. - advice, take pain killers

Hi - have very extensive adhesions, following multiple surgeries, and Ovarian Remnant Syndrome. Need advice on pain relief
My pain issue is that my GP seems to be incredibly reluctant to prescribe any opiate-based pain relief, and is constantly on at me about the risk of addiction and trying to get me to reduce my usage, at one point reducing my prescription by 75% and leaving me virtually suicidal with the pain. Yet I have

Hip Bursitis and sciatica do they go hand in hand and are the treatments and physio for these, similar for each ailment ?
Also is there "really" no cure , I am going into my 3rd month & doesn't seem to be getting better or going away , does this indicate that I am stuck with it and therefore will never be pain free again & always dosed up on Co Codamol & feeling nauseous, ... I am seeing a Physio tomorrow, what is it

This is a new one for me! Horrible groin and outer hip pain. Does anyone else wake up with this. It's just on the left side and it's tender to touch. The pain is hard to ignore! Hasn't got any better all morning despite Co-codamol. 30/500. It feels like a straight line of pain running through from the

Severe constipation and bowel problems, can this be thyroid related ? Recommended pain relief !
I was diagnosed with IBS several years ago before I knew anything about my thyroid problems (Hypo and Hashi's), for the past two months though the constipation has been horrific, I have had severe itching, pain and bleeding when going to the toilet, even though I take the maximum amount of lactulose

maths solution according to the chemist.
The chemist told me that the difference with separating the drugs into their own tablets is that I can control what I am taking according to the pain. She said she thinks the GP is trying to get me off the codeine. I am baffled as the pain level has increased and the co codamol are not working and between

Maths help needed re meds. Hi all, between my chemist and GP we have changed my meds which were co codamol 30/500 . Taken two ,three times
a day To a single tablet of codeine 60mg and 500mg paracetamol two tablets , taken four times a day. I don't know if I am wrong but it seems like it amounts to the same dosage? I can see that I am taking the new dosage once more a day but I used to take the old dosage four times anyway. Is it me or can

Glucosamine sulphate tablets
When I was 2 wk into the programme I started with the dodgy knees during the doctor visit I mentioned I'd started on glucosamine tablets , he told me I didn't need them there just for arthritis . Well regardless I carried on taking them with the cod liver oil . I've run out of glucosamine & was wondering

It's A Start Along The Road To Recovery
I haven't written for a while as I finally got referred to an endocrinologist after seeing a different doc at my surgery and wanted to wait for the outcome of that. This GP had looked at my blood tests and disagreed with her colleagues in the practice that the tests were 'in normal range'. She said she

Please help - advice needed!! What happens when you go to A and E??
Hi all, I haven't posted for a while, probably since had my ovaries out back in June. Haven't had the best of recoveries as had HRT implant fitted during surgery, and for around 6/7 weeks, I had no menopause symptoms. Which they explained was good as meant HRT dose was right. Anyway then started having

Week two of no alcohol and need to get back on the cod liver oil
It is Saturday evening and I am craving for a drink, but will resist the temptation. Only two weeks left to go. Now a while ago I ran out of cod liver oil capsules and never got round to buying some more, what a fool. I did not realise how much they help me as last weekend I hurt my knee and it is still

Vitamin D and 25(OH)D
Been wanting to write about vitamin D for ages, and many thanks for all your posts/advice on this and related subjects, so here is now my current view/understanding on it so far. Vitamin-D seems to be one of the key things we can take action on ourselves, to perhaps slow down the CLL growth rate. As

very cautious restart
I'm one if the folk who's been posting about sore knees. I started in September and got as far as w3r2 when I got a really sore and stiff knee (sort of a pinched pain, not the standard background "growly pain" that I've been getting for years. I also couldn't straighten my leg completely and had to sleep
