Week two of no alcohol and need to get back on the cod liver oil

It is Saturday evening and I am craving for a drink, but will resist the temptation. Only two weeks left to go.

Now a while ago I ran out of cod liver oil capsules and never got round to buying some more, what a fool. I did not realise how much they help me as last weekend I hurt my knee and it is still hurting. So today I went to the chemist and bought some glucosamine and cod liver oil combined.

I have not run all week as work overtook my life, so today I did a park run and ran a new PB of 25:50 and then my knee gave way.

The best bit of the week is we have sold the house, bought a new one and will hopefully be moving in the first week of December - hooray :-D

So this week I am going to swim every other day rather than run, that should sort the knee out.

Happy running all :-)

FANTASTIC that you managed to resist the alcohol again!

You've got your work cut out moving in December - but roll on Christmas and it should all be done and dusted for you!

Enjoy the swimming and GOOD LUCK!

Hooray re the house, that's a great achievement.... As for the knee... Get back on the supplements, lots of cheese and swimming is fantastic and so good for you...... Well done on the booze.. I've gone with the no weekdays but can at weekends which is actually quite something for this boozy panther!!!

Gosh ! Well done on doing without the booze, I'm trying to cut down and it isn't easy even though I feel quite good when I do without. Years ago, when I decided to stop smoking, I went out and bought a bottle of red wine to occupy myself through my first evening without a ciggie. I ended up replacing ciggies with red wine. I've tried to cut out the wine from Monday - Thursday over the last couple of weeks. It hasn't been 100% successful but it has been enough of an improvement to make me want to persevere. Committing to running a marathon next year is giving me an extra incentive.

As for swimming, I haven't since I was 16 - have been toying with going to an adult swimming class.....

A work colleague had adult swimming lessons and she loved them. Give it a go it will help with your marathon training.

Thank you, I like swimming as much as running, glad it worked for you as well.

Well done on avoiding the alcohol and that's a good PB. Enjoy the swim and hope the knee mends soon.

Well done alcopop on the TWNB status (two weeks, no booze). That's impressive although not as impressive as your 5K TIME! Brilliant.
