Colonoscopy
Another question Can I take mebeverine and buscopan before a colonoscopy? It says on letter to stop taking Imodium, codeine phosphate & lomotil 5 days before but doesn’t mention mebeverine and buscopan!

IBS Symptoms
Hi I think I’ve had IBS for most of my life but it’s never been confirmed. I went to the doctor about four years ago who advised me to go gluten free which I did and for around 4 years my symptoms were much better but about 4 months ago I started to have to go to the toilet with more urgency and more

Abdominal pain in 63 yr old male
Abdo pain, Folks ... I know we’re not clinicians but I’ve lost faith in the system and would appreciate anyone’s thoughts, anyway after self diagnosing Helicobacter very recently and then being tested positive & treated. I’m at a loss to explain my ongoing abdo pain (had it since start of Sept this

GP advises nothing they can do
The last few months I’ve been really struggling, I’ve had loose stool (toilet trips 3-8 times a day), stomach pain, wind, bloating and a pain in my bottom. I have lost over 1 1/2 stone since the start of July, which the gp has said is not a concern as I have been eating less on the lowfodmap diet.

Flucloxacillin for an insect bite improved my IBS quality of life
So I've had ibs-d since 1994, I've tried everything and it wasn't until about 10 years ago i got any real relief when i was prescribed 200mg mebeverine twice a day. This really helped but i noticed since taking them eating things with gluten in now made me ill aswell when there was no problem before.

Does anyone share any of this..
Hi, this is not my first post, but it’s struck me that I have never read one from anyone on quite such a total of medication as me. I’ve had IBS C for over 20 years, steadily worsening. I’ve had every possible test and seen some of the top consultants in London. I’m in constant pain, always bloated and

Changing medication?
Hi! Over the years I've been on a variety of antispasmodic medications - alverine citrate, some others I can't remember (!) and now I'm on mebeverine. When I switched onto mebeverine, my GP at the time said that it's helpful to switch every now and again because your body gets used to the medication

Ibs omeprazole?
Hi, wondering if anyone can help me. I've had ibs since I was 13 years old but my stomach has always been "bad". My usual thing is low cramps and the runs, usually set off by stress, lack of sleep or too much bread or grease. 2/3 months ago I started to get a burning pain in my upper right abdomen,

Would be interest to hear from those who suffer and how you manage IBS with GERD , Silent Reflux. IBS big time came into my life following the death of my wife some 9 years ago although in a very mild way had been around for 20 years prior. During the past year I have associated pain , sometimes unbearable

How long is a bout of IBS
Hi I’m new on here and was wondering if IBS can go on for months. I haven’t been formerly diagnosed as waiting for ct scan to see if anything else going on. Have been having pains on right side and bloating since February. Managed to get blood tests done which were all ok, but couldn’t get any scans
