Advice/treatment?
Thought I would add to my previous post as I left some things out. My doctor has recently told me she thinks I have IBS. I am a 22 female and I have done blood tests, stool tests - everything normal, so my GP has ruled out things like H.pylori, IBD, iron deficiency and coeliac. All other blood results

Fed up feeling tired
I had a bad bout last night .... sore back and sore across abdomen. Could not get comfortable in bed .. lying on my back made me feel nauseous. Most comfortable position was onside/front. I then got leg cramps ! (coincidental I'm sure) I haven't managed to identify a food trigger (last night's dinner

Possible irritable bowel
Hi folks, is it common to have autoimmune plus IBS? and how do you know if they are seperate entities or part of UCTD? I have diagnosed esophageal dysmotility, and have to be careful how I eat to avoid spasm and blockage. Now I have something like IBS -c, and I've had various GP tests for blood

Ibs-d & cramping advice.
Its 1.30am on a Monday morning and I'm sat in the dark, with a hot water bottle (in this heat!!) after suffering yet another ibs episode with cramps and ibs-d. I'm a long time sufferer and know my triggers very well, which is always anxiety. Whether it be anxiety from real concerns or anxiety because

mebeverine
hi So I saw a different doctor today and he really listened to me. After examining me he says I have a slight prolapse of my pelvic floor but its very mild and nothing to do with my bowel problems. He has given me mebeverine just wondering will this help my urgency and incomplete evacuation? Thank

Fed up of feeling like a liar with ibs and other health conditions

Fatigue after eating. Ibs
Hi, I have long term fibro. Pain, ibs, fatigue etc.I suffer with bloating, constipation and fatigue which follow most meals especially after breakfast when I have to wait often up to 2 or more hours before fatigue gradually goes although it is longer lasting lately. Food does seems to affect me less

Has anyone else found that their symptoms of IBS increase after taking mebervive. I was prescribed it, and when I have taken it my stomach flares up, I get major bloating and really sharp stomach pains? Has anyone else had this or is it just me?

IBS-D Flare Up
Hey All, first time posting, I’ve had ibsd for over 10 years now and I have the occasional flare up which I deal with, however since Christmas when I was caught short on a walk my anxiety has been through the roof with going out and worrying about getting caught short again. I have been on Citalopram

IBS Followup
Hi, I posted on here over a year ago now about my IBS and the discomfort I get upon waking. Just to recap I've been waking early (4.30, 5.00) and almost immediately feel unwell (bit nauseous and feeling like you're ready to poo). Then have to wait until I'm really ready to go (get this wrong sometimes

IBS/Covid/Stress - Help!
Hi, I've just come across this forum and I'm hoping that you kind folks can give me a virtual hug and some kind words. To sum it up as briefly as possible, I am 48 and have had IBS for 28 years. Its always there in the background but I used to get serious flare ups that lasted for months if there was

I’ve just come back from a doctors visit and he has prescribed Sertraline for my ibs-d. Now I have looked it up and can see that one of the common side effects is diarrhoea. He said this is a drug that will be expected to be tried before an appointment with a gastroenterologist can be made. I have

I am an older gay man and I have a diagnosis of IBS. Am I alone ?
This is a sensitive issue for me. As a gay man, I am increasingly returning to the closet, reluctantly. This is because of years of IBS which has worsened in recent years. I do now have a diagnosis of IBSd, and my GP prescribes Loperamide for me, and Mebeverine. It is a potentially very embarrassing

Discomfort after pooing
hello I’ve had IBS for as long as I can remember. Definitely linked to anxiety. I have severe outbreaks and have taken antidepressants for years and will always do so. I’ve been meditating daily for a few years and wish I had started years ago. I’ve also done a course of online hypnotherapy specifically
