Changing medication?

Hi! Over the years I've been on a variety of antispasmodic medications - alverine citrate, some others I can't remember (!) and now I'm on mebeverine. When I switched onto mebeverine, my GP at the time said that it's helpful to switch every now and again because your body gets used to the medication and it stops working so well.

Has anyone else heard this? I'm having a particularly bad spell at the moment (worst for a few years) so considering asking for a different antispasmodic.

I don't take antispasmodics as none of them touch the pain when flaring. I thought at first they'd help but alas for me they didn't.

We are all different - I have had 3 different types of anti spasmodics and have settled for Mebeverine 200mg time release capsules, also I take Imodium when necessary. Yes, I have heard that by switching it sometimes helps, but at the mo and happy with Mebeverine.

I have had this issue I have had many different meds but ended back on buscopan as it was the only one that didn’t give me headaches at work
